Overall Experience: Our long stay at this hotel was overshadowed by numerous and persistent issues in safety, comfort, and service. Although the property benefits from a central location in West Bay—offering convenient access to the sea, shopping malls, and various city attractions—and the absence of a nightclub reduces nighttime foot traffic, these positives could not offset the array of problems we encountered. The hotel’s performance fell drastically short of what one would expect from a 5 star hotel in Qatar and a Centara-branded establishment, especially for a long-term stay. Location and Noise: While the West Bay location is undeniably practical, it is flanked by a busy main road and ongoing construction sites. Ineffective soundproofing meant we endured constant noise, making it impossible to enjoy any real sense of rest. The hotel’s windows simply failed to shield us from the persistent external disturbances. Check the picture to know what’s happening. Safety and Security: Safety and security were gravely compromised during our stay. Our child was injured at the kids club due to inattentive supervision, and management later confirmed via security footage that an external child had struck ours while staff remained oblivious. No one informed us at the time of the incident or offered assistance. On top of this, our apartment was left unlocked after a maintenance visit, exposing our belongings to risk. Unauthorized maintenance personnel also entered the apartment during housekeeping without prior notice—clear breaches of both privacy and security. Management and Commercial Practices: The management and sales teams behaved in a manner entirely unbefitting a five-star property. Despite requesting a room extension well in advance (more than one month), we were asked, one week later, by email only, to vacate during peak season with no viable alternatives provided. While it’s understandable that hotels in Doha may raise prices during high-demand periods, the manner in which this property exploited the situation was unacceptable. Communication was appalling: the assistant sales manager proved unreliable and unprofessional, the director of sales failed to honor a confirmed appointment, and the general manager never bothered to respond. This absence of leadership and accountability, combined with questionable commercial practices, is indefensible and should be a red flag for any prospective guest. Facilities: The hotel lists a covered pool, gym, spa, kids club, and underground parking among its amenities. The pool and gym were well-maintained, and the lack of a nightclub meant fewer late-night disturbances. Unfortunately, the kids club was a serious letdown. Instead of providing a secure, child-friendly environment, it demonstrated inadequate supervision—an unforgivable failing given its purpose.
