South Pacific Bed & Breakfast

We had 3 nights at Alan & Mazs BnB for our finishing stay in the Cairns area. Totally the best BnB experience we have had in Australia. The accommodation room was very well setup and comfortable. The fruit selection breakfast was delicious and expanding of the taste senses The relaxing facilities were peaceful and refreshing. And the conversations and advice for day trips from Maz and Alan, spot on. A delightful, interesting and well catered for BnB, in easy travelling distance to the Cairns area tourist destinations.

Just a little relaxing paradise. Beautiful personalised breakfast and gorgeous heated open pool. Lush well maintained garden with relaxing private pockets to read a book. The room was very well presented and comfortable, with plenty of thoughtful surprises. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We loved it and we will be back if we return to the area.

We loved staying with Maz & Alan. We had a truly authentic tropical Australian experience. Their place is just off a lovely quiet beautiful beach, their garden is a tropical oasis with a pool and the breakfast tropical fresh fruit tasting platter could only happen in Queensland. The King Room is in a separate apartment from the main house so was very private, it had a simple kitchen for easy food preparation and the bed was really comfortable. Maz & Alan were delightful. We felt looked after and hosted, yet given plenty of space. We would definitely recommend spending a few days here. Thanks for everything. We may see you in Wellington some time .

An absolute gem in all aspects. Maz and Alan, who made us so welcome, provided all the information and help we required, including weather information so that we wouldn’t miss out on a visit to the Great Barrier Reef! The studio flat was very comfortable, had a well equipped kitchenette and private patio with BBQ. The beautiful garden, pool and gazebo added to the perfect holiday accommodation. Breakfast of tropical fruits, homemade yogurt and baked goods irresistible (I don’t normally have breakfast)!

South Pacific B&B is more like a Holiday with Friends than any other holiday accommodation I have stayed at. Maz and Alan are the perfect Hosts and were welcoming, generous and informative from the moment I arrived. I stayed in the Queen Room and found the accommodation and facilities to be first class with everything you would ever need. Immaculately presented, very private, and a great night’s sleep. Everything lived up to the reviews and Breakfast was excellent. The home is light, bright, and intriguing to say the least and it takes quite some time to absorb the sights and sounds, but once you do it is captivating. And the pool is amazing! I only booked the one night between other stays due to no overlap between bookings but in hindsight would have booked my entire stay in Cairns at South Pacific “First time, Every Time.” Maz and Alan are two Gems, and my only problem was tearing myself away from them and seeing the rest of Cairns 😊 Without a doubt the most relaxing B&B I have stayed at.

I stayed in the unit adjacent to the main house. Fabulous well-appointed unit with a private courtyard. No comfort spared, quality towels, and bedding, body wash and shampoo and conditioner, coffee machine, microwave, and an array of glassware, dining ware and cutlery. Maz provides an amazing brekkie at your time of choice on the main house verandah, fresh tropical fruit with homemade yoghurt, croissants or muffins, and of course a great coffee. A 30-minute beach walk to Palm Cove, yet a quiet place to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of Palm Cove. And don't forget the $1 oysters at Ellis Beach Bar and Grill on Sundays 1-4 pm only a $20 cab ride away :-) Fab stay, will be back!!
