Great hotel and room. We stayed in the King executive room which was very spacious and had a big balcony. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds were little unfortunately but overall I had a great experience.

The hotel is a bit old, close to the cruise ship terminal, the room balcony faces the port, the waiter's attitude is very good, but you can't check in before the time, the other hotels are OK. Opposite the hotel is a ******, the central air conditioning cooling tower on the roof is very noisy, and the balcony door must be closed.

The room was very clean. There was a ********* lady at the front desk who could speak Chinese. The hotel has a special menu every day. When we arrived, it was steak night and the steak was quite big.
There was room cleaning service. The environment was very quiet.
It was very close to the pier and it was very convenient to eat around.

There is no breakfast, the room is large and clean, can accommodate 4 people, one large bed and two small beds, the bed is very comfortable, the room can also cook, and the kitchenware is full. The location is excellent, it is very convenient to be close to the supermarket and the seaside. The old lady is very nice and welcoming. Next time you stay in Cairns. This hotel is very good. We are a family of three adults and one child. The room is very large, with a double bed (1.5 meters wide) and two single beds, separate bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, cutlery and forks. Spoons and toasters are very convenient. The hotel has no breakfast and no extra bed. It is suitable for a family. It can be said to be very good at this price. The hotel also has free parking spaces, free Wi-Fi, and a small swimming pool. The hotel is 1.2 kilometers away from the bustling beach area. You can eat and drink when you stroll. The location of the hotel is within the range of free pick-up and drop-off for day trips, which is very convenient.

It was a surprise after checking in. 2 super large viewing balconies, and 180-degree floor-to-ceiling glass in the living room provide sweeping views of the sea and surroundings. We have a complete set of kitchen appliances, such as a washing machine, a dryer, and a very pleasant New Year's Eve. The location is also very good, very close to the pier, and the surrounding supermarket restaurants are very close. This is an apartment we lived in Australia so well, s 4 is awesome, highly recommended

MMin Ts***The apartment is rather new. Location is the biggest its advantage. Vert close to bus station and restaurants. The whole block of 1/2 bedroom apartments are next to the “hotel”. The check in and out processes were fast without hassle.
During my stay, I found some daily problems that I had to sort out. As the staff at the reception said the apartment is managed by the hotel, however, it is not serviced exactly as the hotel rooms. I prefer to have some information sheet telling some basics solutions.
It was not cleaned up every day. We had the cleaning services for the 4th, 8th morning. I have to ask for refilling such as clean towels, toilet papers, rubbish bin bags, dishwashing tabs, I also need to empty the rubbish or food garbage.
Most disappointing, someone having their food in room and drop them nearby my door daily. As the temperature is hot there and stinky smell was suck.

Yuko, who upgraded my room, Jeremiah, the attentive waitstaff who delivered my room service, and Peter, the friendly counter who assisted me with my checkout, all played a vital role in making my stay memorable.

GGuest UserOmg staying at this hostel was equally parts traumatic and entertaining. The best way to describe it is imagine if a problematic 60 year old man opened a hostel with a nightclub underneath, and all the social activities were designed with other problematic 60 year old men in mind. They don't seem to do any sort of gender balancing in the mixed dorm, one girl checked into my room in the middle of the night, because she was put in a mixed dorms with only men over 50. The social activities are old fashioned but not in a good way, I'm talking wet t shirt contests, pole dancing competitions, jelly wrestling. But honestly this hostel gave most of the girls staying here the ick so we ended up having movie nights on the girls floor, going to the market and Esplanade together and to the free gym. I actually had a good time, ironically. The facilities at this hostel are really good to be fair, the dorms were clean, they all had air conditioning and balconies (unfortunately you are not able to control the temperature of the air conditioning or turn it off when it is cold outside), they had large well equipped kitchens, a pool and a free gym. Even the nightclub was a good venue, but the social activities are like something out of the Wolf Of Wall Street. If they are going to be a sleazy venue they could at least hire Magic Mike dancers. But honestly they just need to get a new entertainment manager and this place would be fine. Location is alright, about a twenty minute walk to the Esplanade.

GGuest UserI arrived at the end of November, the beginning of the rainy season, and arrived at 4am in the pouring rain, and arrived at the hotel at around 6am. I was wondering what to do when the hotel was closed, but someone staying there opened it for me.
The hotel was clean and very relaxing.
They allowed me to check in early and were very accommodating, but there were almost no amenities, just a bar of soap, shampoo, and one small bottle of conditioner.
No towel changes or additional amenities for the first 7 days...
I thought it was humid in the summer, but I thought it can't be helped because towel changes are rarely done in Australia (due to water shortages and to protect resources).
I thought the location was about 10 minutes from the main area, but it was quite far with a stroller.
Considering the hotel staff's attitude and cleanliness, I think it was pretty good.

However, beware of the morning (ard 6:30am) house keeping if you wanna sleep in~ overall, I enjoyed staying there and had lot of fun in Cairns!

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.
