We have just returned from a 2 week stay with Jet2 at the Laconia Village hotel and would recommend this hotel for its great location, good food and friendly staff. As others have said, this hotel is more of a 3 star than a 4 star rating due to the basic and small rooms that are in need of refurbishment, but the reception, pool, restaurant areas and gardens are of a good standard. This area of Sardinia is stunning, with fantastic beaches, luxury resorts and some interesting archeological sites nearby. If you have children they will enjoy the Aquadream waterpark and the boat trip you can book to the Maddalena islands. Location - The best thing about this hotel is the location. There is a bus stop just behind the hotel that offers journeys to other resorts, attractions and beaches. We took the blue coach bus to Baia Sardinia, Aquadream Waterpark, Porto Cuervo, Capriccioli beach, and the small white bus can take you to Arzachena for the weekly market and to the archeological sites at Malchittu. Ask the reception staff for an up-to-date bus timetable for both buses as the one on the bus stop is from 2020. You can also walk to Cannigione from the hotel via a path that runs along the coast. This only takes about 20 minutes and will lead you to the nearest supermarkets, beaches and restaurants. If you walk up the hill from the hotel, there are more larger beaches such as Tanca Manna and Mannena. There is a ticket office near to the hotel where you can purchase tickets for the boat trip to the Maddalena islands Restaurant and food - We particularly enjoyed having the same table to eat at each evening which avoided any scramble for seating in a busy area. The staff in the restaurant are excellent and very friendly, even greeting guests each evening at the start of dinner service. There are a lot of options for food, with a meat/fish counter, a pasta selection and a large salad area each evening. The breakfast choices are continental items such as cold meats, cheese, pastries etc and lack 'english' breakfast items such as sausage, bacon, eggs etc. The hotel is not close to any supermarkets so getting water is a problem. The hotel only sells large bottles of water at 3 EUROS per bottle, so stock up in Cannigione supermarket. Pool area - the pool is spotlessly clean and quiet. I was surprised to see that most guests don't seem to use it, and there were usually empty loungers when we did go there. You have to wear a swimming cap in the water and the water is quite cold. I suspect most people preferred to walk to the local beaches for warmer water and the stunning scenery rather than sit by the pool. Entertainment - the one downside to this hotel is the lack of evening entertainment after dinner. There are kids clubs and some activities that run in the daytime, but after dinner the guests desperately need some family shows from 9pm. The hotel has a large stage and seating area across the street, but this is hardly used. There were one or two 'variety/comedy
