I was really worried when we first booked as the reviews were so awful online. I don’t want to discredit anyone else’s experience as they could have fixed some of the issues since other peoples stays but my partner and I both thought it was wonderful! The check in was super easy, the ‘guest house’ area wasn’t in use but who’s spending time in there anyway? The room was stunning! No problems with the cleanliness, noise or amenities. View of the beach front from the room window, hot water for the bath. No problems with the key safe or access to the building/room. I thought it was important to leave this review as the hotel seems to have a bad reputation online but from our experience it was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending!

Quite nice guest house tricky to check in you must remember when booking to give your email otherwise you need to ring up to check in no staff all done by code on front door and room door has a key in a little key safe which we left on the bed and locked ours out no worries though staff member came 10 minutes later with spare key. Annoying g led light in shower lost connection to wifi so flashing pink neon light managed to switch off at switch room clean but looking a bit tired this was the room in the pics on the website room 4 needs a good clean and refresh in all a pleasant nights sleep good location

We wish we had read these reviews before staying here. It was disgusting. We booked a night for a concert on the beach. We struggled to find it as there are no signs/numbers- it look derelict. We checked in (no one on site- this is a self check in with keys left in a lock box) and found our room to be filthy. We called and were told the ‘manager’would arrive to fix everything. A man arrived in his trackies, baseball cap and croc’s and asked us to show him what was wrong. The list was as follows- Floor filthy- hair, dirt and litter throughout- such as bottle tops and hair balls. Toilet door missing-has clearly been smashed and not replaced so unless you’re happy to do a poo in front of whoever you’re staying with-book elsewhere. Fingerprints all over mirror. Dust everywhere. Broken chair- as in, has clearly been saturated and is a danger. Remote for tv didn’t work. Wifi didn’t work. Tea/coffee hadn’t been replenished. Stained sheets. Wet tissue had been thrown on the ceiling. Sink was filthy with toothpaste everywhere and hair. Shower tiles had water leaking up from them when you stood on them. Balcony was filthy with old food and cigarette butts. The ‘manager’ then asked us what we wanted him to do about- suggesting the cleaner was not going to come back. We were missing our concert so had to cope with a sweep of the floor and clean sheets. We too will report this venue and seek a full refund. It is a health hazard and anyone more vulnerable would be unsafe.

Do not stay here! We too stupidly booked without looking at the reviews on here. As we were on a hen do we called ahead and told them there would be hell of our rooms looked like the pictures. The manger assured us the reviews were people who showed up before 3pm meaning rooms hadn't been cleaned yet from previous guests. So we waited till about 4 and went to look at the rooms. The place is severely run down and in need of a lot of tcl but rooms were cleaned (ish) some of the mirrors were still filthy and Bins not emptied but we at least had clean sheets. The was no hot water either throughout the entire building. We spoke to other guests to confirmed this. We decided to just move on with our night get ready and leave. Upon returning as we entered the main front door we realised this has been kicked in and locks broken off. We then discovered that the same thing had happened to my room. We tried contacting the management, we called 30 times with no luck. I was left with an unsecure room throughout the entire night. I had called the police but there wasn't anything they could do to make my room lockable because as you can see by my photos the entire frame has been pulled off. We are still in contact with oyo daily to resolve this but they are basically ignoring us. Never calling back, even accusing me of breaking down my own door and stealing things?

AWFUL, disgusting room, blood on sheets, bins not emptied, room stank!! When my teenager and her boyfriend complained they were told they could have another room but would have to wait, no apology!! Another guest said his company had booked him in there and said it was 'horrendous ' My daughter didn't want to stay there as she said she felt uncomfortable and said it was an awful place, after speaking to the manager a 50% refund was offered. This is unacceptable and if a full refund isn't offered I will be reporting to Environmental Health

From the outside the place looked semi derelict - paint peeling off the walls, a stained mattress visible in the "reception" room leant against the wall, no sign, front door on a combination lock. Hadn't been sent the combination. Rang the doorbell several times, finally answered by a guy who himself looked homeless and told us there was "nobody here". However he eventually let us in and showed us to our room. The public areas of the building were filthy, damp and smelly. Our room was in the basement although we had specified first floor - so no WiFi and no mobile reception. The room was almost adequate but badly maintained and needing redecoration. The extractor fan in the shower room didn't work. If you sat up in bed and leaned your back against the "headboard", the bed scooted across the room. The hand basin in the shower room only delivered cold water. The programmed lighting didn't work properly. One reasonably usable towel and one that was as rough as sandpaper. The room appeared not to have been cleaned for several weeks. We'd booked bed and breakfast but no breakfast was provided - though to be honest I wouldn't have eaten it anyway. I value my digestive health too much. A grotesque stay at a ghastly venue. I was up really early because the room was noisy, cold and uncomfortable, so I left as soon as possible. As I said, never again. Amazed it has a licence to continue trading!

DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE . We arrived & had not been sent key code for front door A guest let us in and gave us mobile number for manager We eventually got to our room which was filthy. Another couple had also decided not to stay because of the unhygienic conditions . The place was run by OYO and believe their call centre is in India although had a London phone number. They were asking us for more money too! We are both pensioners and was left tired & disappointed We left the filthy premises and had to find another guest house. Cannot understand why some travel sites are taking bookings & promoting The Fab Guesthouse. It has put me off booking through 3rd party sites. We have never in our years of travel experienced any place like The FAB (FILTHY AND BASIC)
