"As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a breathtaking view of the ocean. The air conditioning was already at a comfortable temperature, and music was blaring from the radio on the table. I fell in love with the room instantly. Everything about the room was so tastefully appointed, with so many little surprises. I loved it so much that I didn't want to leave!"

"Not a good experience we spent two nights here with pre-paid breakfast. The entrance was dirty and far from welcoming, we were 20 minutes early for our check-in so I asked if we could use the cafe/bar and was told no it's being cleaned. The lifts were awful one wasn't working at all and the other was filthy and made worrying noises, our room was OK but the curtains and windows were very dirty. The shower was the worst I'd ever used no water pressure and not very clean, on our first morning neither of the coffee machines at breakfast were working, we were asked twice what our room number was, and was told I wasn't on the pre-paid breakfast list, when it's clearly on my booking confirmation 🙄 all the staff seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else, it wasn't cheap enough to excuse any of this"

Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel

"This hotels frontage echo’s bygone splendour and is perfectly situated on the sea front. However, the hotel is ready for refurb and I certainly wouldn’t stay in the annex again (that’s the bit at the back without a sea view). Out room 254 was not what I expect from a Mercure - we had 2 extra single beds and a tatty sofa chair in our higgledy-piggledy “double” room! However, the staff were excellent, very polite and welcoming. The breakfast was superb and again the restaurant staff were lovely and professional."
