Apartment Barcelona

On the face of it the apartment is stylishly refurbished but suffers from several cleanliness and a couple of major practical issues. First off all the property lists itself as being accessible by lift on booking, however we found this out to be blatant lie upon arrival, the elevator was privately installed by people on the 5th floor and requires a pin code to use it, a pin code which you will not get access too, so you have to carry your shopping/luggage up the stairs. The microwave as well as several plates and pots still had pieces of food stuck to them, the toilet brush was so badly rusted it fell apart upon first use and requires constantly pushing back together, the brush itself is also filthy of you can imagine what. The kitchen drawers could use a good clean with several left over crumbs, not to mention the cutlery also required washing. I had to pull out a ridiculous amount of dust from the hoover in order to get any useful suction to clean the apartment so I have no idea when this was last emptied. This leads me onto my point about cleanliness, the apartment required hoovering and mopping barely 2 days into our stay due to our feet becoming dirty from just walking to the kitchen, upon leaving a review on booking I received a rude response stating "we were asked if we needed anything" on the 7th day of our 10 day stay, to which I replied no because we didn't need anything, I had already cleaned the entire apartment, washed the dishes, hoovered, mopped the floor so at that time we didn't need anything. The owner doesn't like honesty and responds in an incredibly rude way to anyone who leaves a negative review. The WiFi speed is a 6mb's, which meant my gf struggled to continue to work during our stay, with my phone and laptop losing connection frequently, or not connecting at all, we were unable to reset the router as it is located in the other apartment according to another review I read. The mattress is also far too soft which meant a few uncomfortable nights sleep, on top of that is the selfish neighbours above who will hoover at sometimes 10/11pm at night. As well as some continuous banging of diy efforts after 9pm on a couple of evenings. And to finish on the positive note, Ivana the caretaker was lovely to deal with, the location of the property is great but again due to all the things I have listed above I wouldn't recommend this apartment to people nor would I stay here again, which is sad because like I stated it is a beautiful and stylishly designed apartment in a great location but impractical in some of the most basic ways with cleanliness issues.
