I hesitate to write this because I wanted so much to like this place! The core problem of this place comes from the design of the room, as good as it’s intentions were, is a huge design flaw.
In the villa, there is no door linking to the toilet (both WC and shower), they are divided from the bedroom with a cabinet which doesn’t even reach to the top of the ceiling. As a result, the whole room is basically sharing recycled air with the toilet, creating a strong smell of moisture and mildew. This also creates an issue of privacy (but honestly this doesn’t bother me, just a side note for people not travelling as a couple).
You don’t need to be hugely sensitive to smell to notice this (I’m not at all). But the smell hits you once you enter the room.
The staff tries to help by spraying some air freshener, when we mentioned it upon entering.
The room does have an airing ventilator equipped as well, but it’s linked to the lights so that has to go off once you want to sleep. Anyway in the daytime with it on, it didn’t change the room quality.
I really do not understand the room engineer and why this was not taken into consideration. As time goes on, I do believe this problem will deepen when the estate ages.
There is a reason why it’s 2am and I’m awake writing this.
Really a pity.
