Haven Cottage

We recently stopped at Haven Cottage for one night on our way up to Scotland, and immediately wished we’d booked a longer stay! The property itself is beautifully decorated, cosy and peaceful. Our suite was really spacious. The cottage is ideally situated for a walk into Ambleside, down to lake Windermere or a day trip to other Lake District towns. The owners Amanda and Mark were so welcoming, and their commi**ent to sustainability and buying local produce was good to see. The breakfast menu was extensive. We highly recommend the cooked breakfast! Will definitely be visiting again.

An amazing place to stay. Super hosts and marvellous accommodation. Breakfasts were delicious and whole experience was totally relaxing. This is thanks to Mark and Amanda’s determination to ensure everything is perfect for a stress free stay - Thank you Amanda and Mark- much appreciated .

It was our first stay at Haven cottage and we really loved our stay! Perfect location, beautiful cottage, cleaned to a high standard. Amanda & Mark were great host, little things such as the home made cake & the honest bar add a nice touch. Parking included which is always helpful. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. The cottage has a lovely indoor & outdoor seating area which was nice to use. It felt very homely & comfortable. We plan on returning & would highly recommend!

We received a very warm welcome and offered tea/coffee on arrival. The accommodation is very clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. The bed was really comfortable and the shower probably the best I’ve experienced in a B&B. Breakfast was delicious and very well organised. Location is perfect for hiking routes and close to all the bars and restaurants if that’s what you’re after. All in all an excellent place to stay.

Absolutely fantastic 3 night stay! Luxurious spotless bedroom ( room 8)with amazing balcony we were so lucky with the beautiful weather and the views were spectacular ! Huge bathroom with wonderful bath ,large shower and two sinks all complemented with fluffy towels ,bathrobes and high end toiletries. We had a selection of delicious freshly cooked breakfasts with exciting homemade additions such as veggie patties and rosti. As well as yummy homemade goodies every afternoon! Lovely to meet you both😊 Thank you for such a special stay….we will return and have already recommend to family and friends.

We have just returned from a two night stay at Haven Cottage and it lives up to it's name, a real Haven. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished throughout. Pubs, restaurants and fabulous walks are just around the corner. Our hosts Amanda and Mark were very kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was exceptional with lots of choice and locally sourced produce beautifully cooked. We would recommend Haven Cottage and hope to return. Neil and Maxine.

Fabulous! Stayed before but it’s just as fabulous as it was. Situated on the edge of Ambleside and beautifully presented throughout with fresh flowers including our room. Super comfy bed- slept so well. The owners take time to chat and make you feel welcome. Amanda is a nutritionist and makes healthy and delicious cakes and biscuits which she leaves out in the afternoons for guests to help themselves. The breakfasts were second to none and the best ingredients bought locally are used. Will definitely return because we thoroughly enjoyed it all. Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality! Lovely restaurants and cafes in the town too. We used Dodds for tasty Italian food and Flying Fleece for pub meals and found a lovely tea room by the pier called Waterhead which has a terrace overlooking the lake and serves delicious home baked cakes

The second time we’ve visited Haven Cottage. Such a lovely place. The hosts are very attentive and took great care ensuring that my wife’s food intolerances were catered for. Very helpful with suggesting suitable walks during our stay. Perfect location for local restaurants and bars. A 5 star B&B 😎

Amanda and Mark are so kind and welcoming, and the breakfast and afternoon cake are absolutely wonderful. Amanda cares about providing the best quality local food, and Mark suggested wonderful local walks. We would love to return again!!!
