We have recently returned from a great stay at the Sofia beach hotel. It is in an excellent location, with immediate access to the beach where there are plentiful parasols available at a daily rate- or you can book as we did for the whole of our trip. The pool is a reasonable size and loungers around it are always available so it was very easy to go between pool and beach at will during the day. Our rooms were spacious and clean, as was the rest of the hotel - the staff do a great job and are very warm and helpful. But I do agree with others that the glass partition between the room and the bathroom is a drawback- for us because the light from the bathroom shone into the bedroom which disturbed my partner when I was in the bathroom and he was already trying to sleep! The food was very good and, though not a vast selection, certainly plenty of choice for adults and kids. However it could benefit from being hotter- where the dishes had been out for a while they were often lukewarm. Other hotels with buffets I've stayed at seem to have better heating arrangements! A particular shout out for the woman who runs the restaurant- so sorry I didn't get her name! Breakfast started at 8.00am but we had to leave at 8.15am to catch our flight. She unhesitatingly offered to open the restaurant at 7.30am and to our astonishment the full breakfast selection, including freshly made pancakes, eggs, patisserie etc, was ready for us. In fact this was probably our best breakfast as the food was all hot and fresh! All in all, a great hotel and a lovely holiday in Alcudia. We agreed that we would be very happy to return.
