Dongsi Hotel Beijing (Near Wangfujing)
8.4/52398 Ulasan
Tian'anmen Square and Wangfujing Area
We are 2 friends and both are new to Beijing and let alone China. We are first time here. For me the room is great enough, light was all working fine. The toothbrush and soap provided but need to get from reception. I was using iPhone so I cannot use the WiFi as it only works with Android due to firewall. Location wise I think it is easy to find even with Google Map. For those using Metro, Dongsi Station Exit G is the nearest one, while Exit D is the second nearest. Two main metro line to Dongsi Station is Metro Line 5 & 6. But we normally use line 6 because it is nearest to Exit G. The area is close to Forbidden Palace, you can get there with one change of metro service. When I went to Forbidden Palace, I did go there using Metro then walk back as it is only around 1.6km walking after the Exit at Forbidden Palace and took about 20 minutes walking. I did use Baidu map to walk to the hotel from Forbidden Palace and you will take short cuts which will end up at the back of Renaissance Hotel. Tips : mark the hotel in Baidu map so you can easily get the map working especially if cannot speak Chinese like me. On Dongsi West St there is National Art Museum and it is free. I did went there alone after checkout, there are 6 floors of exhibits there. Walk to Wangfujing shopping st would take you around 15 minutes. The famous Prime Hotel Beijing is like 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Not much to do at night as shops literally close early at around 8PM to 9PM except for McDonald’s which close at 11PM like 5 minutes walk from hotel. There is a mosque near hotel if you are Muslim like me but the mosque is a bit run down and closes its door and you need to ask the caretaker to open the door if you want to pray. Overall I’m satisfied with the hotel which I think is very basic and fits our budget. I wish there is a cupboard inside the room for us to hang out clothes and fridge. The toilet however is spacious and hot water can only be used for 20 minutes then we need to wait again for 30 minutes for it to replenish which is a problem if there are a lot of people to take shower at same time. Improvement for hotel : 1 Put small cupboard in room for guest to hang clothes. 2 Change the curtain as it is very old and looks like not wash for long time. 3 Better if room has small fridge for guest to store food. Getting there : Metro from took like 50 minutes with 3 changes in metro line. For me it is very easy, and cheap cost like 40RMB in Alipay. Overall the surrounding maybe take 2 days for you to be familiar with but I think it is good enough as there are McDonalds, Luckin coffee and also bakery near the hotel like 5 minutes walk. Small convenience store is there in the back alley but close like at 8PM. Reason I chose this hotel : 1 Your taxi can get there straight in front of hotel as it is not in Forbidden Palace area where some place taxi cannot get in and you need to carry your bag through busy street 2 Easy access as you walk 10 minutes from Dongsi Station Exit G/D to get to hotel 3 Near Dongsi mosque if you want to pray if you’re muslim 4 Very quiet area as a bit far from Forbidden Palace area or Wangfujing 5 Lots of shops to eat and cafe on Dongsi N st or Meishuguan E st near the Prime Beijing Hotel 6 A few halal muslim restaurant for you to eat if you are picky eater and not familiar with convenience store food 7 When go out of hotel turn left at end of the Dadoufu Ln there is small convenience you can buy food but close early around 8PM.
Coabana Hotel (Beijing Dongzhimen Lama Palace)

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
Hotel was about 15-20 min walk to the subway station, which consider pretty far. Not like what other review says it's within minutes walk. Will be difficult if you're pushing heavy luggage. Do take note that nearest station is DongZhimen station which by far, I've not found any elevator nor downward escalator, which will make it difficult when going to airport by subway train. There should be one downward escalator somewhere but eventually we decided to take a cab down which takes about $160 yuan for a 6 seater. A lot of eateries around the hotel area and a pharmacy next door which makes it convenient if touch wood , any co-traveller falls sick. But not a very friendly pharmacist there. Our hotel room is the bigger one with projector with movies. Just need to use WeChat app to scan to access. Basic stuff provided in the hotel. Anything else, you have to ask , eg shaver, or floss etc but no safe and fridge , wardrobe though. There is a Korean restaurant in the hotel which makes it convenient if you decide not to dine out. Customer service wise, housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, accommodating our request here and there. Except one day-shift front desk who is not too helpful nor friendly. Sometimes when we asked for extra bottles of water or tissue packs, she would be reluctant and ask for our room number to keep track of our usage. As my co-travellers caught a flu in between, we need more tissues. At one time, when I asked for two more packs of tissues, in the end she came up to tell me hotel run out of tissue and can only give me one pack, the rest is toilet rolls. But when later, I approach the housekeeping staff, the cleaner lady gladly handed me what I needed. Too bad I didn't know the name of the unfriendly front desk. But she's the smaller built size one. On the contrary, one night shift front desk is to totally extremely helpful and friendly, she goes by the name ”Xiao Li staff number 000”. As my co-travellers fall sick in the middle of the night, running fever and catching cold and cough, I have nowhere to buy medication. She helped me to order online with ”mei tuan” which we foreigners have no way to order unless with a local number. She even offered me more water and tissue packs without me requesting. The next early morning, when I walked past the reception to get my breakfast, she even asked how my co-travellers are doing and whether they recovering. On the day of departure, she helped me with the booking of a cab to airport and gave me a few pointers going to airport. Her presence make me gives an extra star to this hotel. She is definitely the best staff in the hotel. Overall, if you are travelling alone or with adults companion, this hotel is considered decent but with children, you may want to be prepared to walk more or take a cab to any of your destinations.

Hotel in the central district. near the subway station. around there are many small restaurants serving delicious and cheap food. in the basement there is a small supermarket. next to it there is a place selling Chinese sim cards which is very convenient. We stayed here for 2 nights but then decided to stay for 3 more nights. there are 2 receptionists who are very beautiful and enthusiastic in guiding our questions and requests. there is a robot that delivers to the room which is very good. towels, sheets, water... are replenished and replaced every day. there is a free laundry room. self-service dining area Although it is in the capital Beijing, the price is reasonable. Thank you very much to the 2 receptionists

i would like to thank the hotel staff a lot for being accomodating and helpful to our group as there were miscommunications as we didn't know chinese and relied on translation apps that weren't accurate for the most part. i acknowledge that they did extra things that came with having guests like us who couldn't understand chinese (ex. how to work the washing machine for example, or letting us borrow their wechat to deliver food the first night because we were hungry and there was no place to eat that was open on that day-CNY) and they helped as in every step as much as they can, which i really appreciated. the hotel cleans the rooms every 3rd day too but they always give new towels, and water bottles and slippers every day. which i think are very kind of them. the rooms are VERY spacy too which is great. the beds were comfortable as well. you can also request toothbrushes if you need more. there;s a lso a very good and restaurant next to the hotel that is open very late if anyone was wondering (esp since the location is a bit far from others). the washing machine was very confusing though because we would wait for the whole time it would say it would take to finish, but when we would check after that stated time, it would add like another hour. and it would do that every time so we had to physically ask to override the machine everytime we would need our clothes. only downside was there was miscommunication with communicating through trip.com and the hotel because i would message trip for help and they would say that the hotel said one thing but then it wouldn't exactly be correct. (like my family wanted to get the coat rack fixed because it was broken and it was maybe 3 days before it was fixed--the problem was trip told us it was already fixed in the 2nd day? so it was a bit confusing when we arrived. the hotel staff were very kind though and fixed it on the 3rd when we specifically went up to the front desk for help). i also think trip.com should maybe not put that breakfast is available as the hotel breakfast is a bit debatable and not a full meal. my father need FULL meals for his medication so one factor for our booking this hotel was because there was breakfast available. but the hotel only provides a few fruits, boiled eggs, and plain toast. so we often got breakfast outside still. overall, the hotel itself and hotel staff was very good and comfortable to stay with! thank you!

We chose this place because the location, which is perfect if you wanna enjoy the street food of Beijing. Also it has the metre station really close which made our 4 day trip more comfortable to move around. The staff that works here was also really nice and friendly from the beginning. They helped us to make reservations that we couldn’t make because we didn’t have a Chinese number. Although they don’t speak English very well, we could communicate each other very well with a translator. So I would highly recommend staying here!

I originally planned to take the tourist bus back to the city, but my child didn’t want to go down the mountain. Plus, walking on the Great Wall felt very comfortable at the time. I wanted to wait for the sunset to watch the sunset, so I looked for temporary accommodation. However, my child looked through the hotel and found a hotel with a small airplane overhead light. The room must be this one. The room is very mini but very practical. It feels like a small bedroom in your own home. The house is very clean. The landlord was very down-to-earth and very attentive. We didn’t go down the mountain until after dark. He knew we were going home so he waited for us at the roadside in advance. He also sent us to the bus stop the next morning (the transportation was very convenient and we could get on to the city quickly). of rental). The landlord's brother and sister-in-law can all speak fluent English. They also introduced scenic spots guide to several Indian guests and sent them to the scenic spots. The service was very good.

I have to write this review so that the hotel will review its staff. We have travelled to 70-80% of China's provinces but have never met any hotel employee who is so rude and condescending as your employee who was on duty on 23/2 and when we returned on 4/3 night and 7/3 night when we left. Refused to do anything we requested in a rude voice and talked to us like we were ****** who couldn't understand her. We wanted to store our luggage from 24/2 to 4/3. She refused rudely. Luckily I had asked Trip.com to confirm with hotel management on the storage and management had agreed to it. When we ask for extra room cards to enable our partners to smoke outside, also rudely turned down. If she had said politely there wasn't enough cards, We would have been ok. We asked other staff on duty on 5/3 and 6/3 for help and they were more than willing to help us with transportation enquiries and other things. On 7/3 when we were going to airport, this rude staff refused to help us to call Didi saying it was not her duty. Then when my husband told her off, an older staff asked her to help us, she reluctantly looked into it. Made rude remarks saying she couldn't know what the toll charges were. I told her to ask the driver. When driver told her he could add it on, it meant that we could pay driver separately for the toll. But she rudely told me in a condescending voice to pay her the total instead, not knowing I could understand the driver. My mandarin may be basic but I speak Cantonese and Hokkien fluently so I can understand mandarin. Most people we have met in China have been pleasant and some have gone out of their way to assist us (from larger cities in Yunnan, Xinjiang,Gansu, Luoyang, Chengdu, Chongqing, Heilongjiang, Guangzhou, Shanghai to smaller towns like Wuqiau, HengDian, Shangrao - as i said, we covered many places). We have not met anyone so rude and condescending and so unwilling to help as this staff. We totally love visiting China because of our previous experiences. This person has really spoilt our trip to Beijing.
