Wonderful upscale hotel in Dolok Sanggul clearly catering to foreign tourists. It's an impressive place visually from the outside, with a roomy, partially open-air dining/restaurant area making full use of the beautifully mild climate of the mountainous area south of Lake Toba. Breakfast is served starting at 7am and the restaurant appears to be open all day, though service stops at 10pm except for room-service beverage requests. Beverages are primarily juices, teas and coffees, though beer is also an option (Bintang). Food options are a mix of Batak/Indonesia, Chinese and Western-style. Most of the Western options were either steaks or pasta, and they were out of the steak. Unfortunately, I ended up with food poisoning later that night but I don't think it's fair to ding them for that. The room was very comfortable. An armoire for hanging clothes as well as another hanging rack. Complimentary towel and room slippers. Television had several HBO channels as well as more local programming, perhaps 12-15 stations total to choose from. The bathroom is definitely oriented towards tourists. Some basic toiletries like toothbrush/toothpaste. Western-style flush toilet with both toilet paper and the traditional butt-gun water hose. Shower gave good hot water although controls were very touchy. There was a hand/body soap dispenser in the shower but no bar soaps in the bathroom or shampoo. There were no signs indicating you shouldn't drink the tap water but, it's Indonesia and you should never drink the tap water if you're a tourist. Two small bottles of water were in the room along with a coffee-maker. Definitely a great option if you're in the area.

I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay. We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade. Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island. Plan to book Mikie, unfortunately fully booked. Saw this available for family room, super really excellent! Great family room and love the hotel. Just suggestion should have water heater coz the water is too cold🥶

The hotel location is near Kualanamu airport. The condition of the rooms is good and well maintained. The room is very spacious, equipped with a large refrigerator and sink. Complete amenities and affordable prices. The staff is friendly and very helpful to guests' needs.

I love it here. Just I forgot to take some pictures in the room. Just at the buffet corner. The staff are friendly. Most Indonesians are friendly. Since it’s a new hotel there’s nothing much I can say about this hotel. The buffet however just so-so. Not much variety. I will come back. In sya Allah

Probably the best resort in Pantai Cermin. The staff is friendly and attentive. We had good matrasses and a spacious room. The website includes a note that ‘some rooms have windows’, suggesting the chance of getting a room in some sort of cave. We think most rooms have (several) windows, so the description of the rooms deserve better.  Be aware that the place is hard to get or to leave if you don’t have your own means of transportation. Taxis don’t come here, maybe Grab does. Foreign tourist hardly come here and only a few staff speak English, but Google translate can help out. The resort is busy in the weekends with local tourists from nearby, like Medan. The immediate surrounding  is regularly sweeped to remove rubbish, but many places, including the beach has a pollution issue.

The location of this hotel is near to USU and malls. I love the hospitality here, the cleaner clean the hotel room everyday, they change to new a towel every day. The breakfast menu a bit limited and for the drinks they only served coffee, tea, plain water and orange cordial water everyday. The wifi is fast. The economical standard room is quite small and only fit for 2 people, if you wish to bring yoyr kids please book a bigger room.If you are looking for cheap hotel in Medan with good location and service, i guess the Batik hotel is the best bet. I would definitely will stay at this hotel again in the future.
