It’s a bit difficult to find the hotel because it’s located in the high book building. The noise insulation is poor. You can easily hear people next door talking. Some residents also speak loudly in the corridor and constantly bang the doors. These are all uncontrollable but I can’t believe I heard the staff playing music loudly while cleaning other rooms. The hotel itself is noisy enough. Really disappointing. The upside is it provides clean drinking water so I don’t have to buy bottled water.

Hotel and Location was nice . Just found out though that they dont provide toothbrush and toothpaste anymore - so bring your own. Bottled water is only provided on first day but you can refill on their water dispenser . Disregard photo

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Close walk to Taipei Main Station and Taoyuan Airport MRT station for transportation (just need to figure out the right exit to enter or exit the station), walking distance to Ximenting for shopping, there are lots of eateries nearby, Chengzhong Market (城中市场 translate to Market in the city), a local market, is walking distance with lots of local food stalls. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby area is quite spacious with some longish siting area. There is no common area to work though. We booked 2 types of room for our group. Share Studio and Classic Twin. The Share Studio comes with 4 single beds, no window, but spacious. However, the toilet ergonomics not so good as there is no space to place toiletries in the shower cubicle except on the floor. 1 bit towel and a small towel are provided for, together with 2 paper cups for each bed. Each bed has a luggage storage area under the bed, a lockable drawer, and a small compartment for storing things. Each bed comes with a small retractable desk with its own light at the foot of the bed. The Classic Twin has better ergonomics in the toilet, and has windows to get ventilation (if needed). This room is considered more premium than the Share Studio, it comes with tea and coffee, and ceramic cups. In each room a water jug is provided for, and at least 2 water stations are available on each floor. Will I stay here again? Definitely.

I had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious and offered a lovely view from the 13th floor. The hotel's location is just a 5-minute walk to the metro, making it super convenient for exploring the area. There are also two handy convenience stores nearby, which made grabbing snacks and essentials a breeze. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were attentive. Highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and prime location!

However, this wasn’t a major issue for me. The only downside is that the surrounding area doesn’t offer much in terms of dining options, as it’s more of an office building complex. That said, if you’re commuting via taxi or ride-hailing apps, Xinyi district and its vibrant food scene are just a short ride away. What truly sets this hotel apart is the superb view—it’s breathtaking and makes your stay feel even more special. The room itself was exceptional: extremely spacious, luxurious, clean, and tidy. Every detail was well thought out, making it a comfortable and relaxing retreat. If you’re looking for a luxurious stay with amazing views and don’t mind relying on transport for dining, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

Front desk staff are super professional and helpful, particularly Ms Wu and Mr Wang, very efficient service even in the middle of the night, when ceiling has water dripping.  Very comfortable seating area in lobby with 24 hours coffee, tea and hot water.  There’s no heating, the room can get quite cold near ***** new year time.  Very close to 六合夜市 night market and Formosa subway station. Good value for the money paid.

My wife and I found the staff here to be especially helpful and conscientious. The room was what you would expect for a hotel in this price range, and it included an electric kettle and some free tea and coffee. The beds and temperature were comfortable, and the room was clean and in good condition, featuring good lighting in general and very good reading lights for night reading. The exercise room was limited to a few stationary bikes and treadmills with no other workout facilities, but it was easy to access and had a nice, big window. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good variety of well-prepared food, plenty of seating (indoors and outdoors), and nice decor. We ate there three times and were always pleased with the food and service. There are plenty of restaurants, banks, and stores near the hotel, and it's about a 10 minute taxi ride from the train station. We highly recommend this place.

I could not believe how clean and comfortable this hotel was! It was amazing. Cosy, friendly and in a perfect location for sights and attractions. The Solaria Nisitetsu Hotel has thought of everything. There are fresh fluffy dryers for umbrellas, self-select toiletries, secure luggage lockers, and step-up stool placed next to the washing machine to help you unload the dryer, ( I had just thought a stool would be helpful, I saw it.) Right in the heart and liveliness of the city. The hotels ambience was relaxing. I arrived during a storm, the lobby brought a lovely view, international newspapers and magazines, fresh coffee and stylish decoration. It was a treat to relax there. The friendly team made a huge effort to share the best in service and create a remarkable experience, and they did. Experiencing warm welcomes and genuine kindness, I can not thank the team enough. I appreciated the follow-up on travel questions, the team shared tailored recommendations for art galleries and theatre tickets, considering and checking what was accessible during the storm. The professional reception team, shared helpful suggestions on metro routines too, with times to visit areas and sights to see along the way. These suggestions made a difference. The room standard was amazing. The amenities are five-star standard, and the cheerful housekeeping team were kind and friendly. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the team who was a pleasure to meet. There are many shout-outs for this stay. The kind and thoughtful little things such as handy guidebooks and a well-kept, new gym. Thank you. I will stay again. One of our favorite hotels in Taipei. Service and amenities were perfect. On top of all that, they have a great sauna area and a very very decent gym. One of the most elaborate setup that i have seen, with numerous machines. Definitely a recommend. We got a nice lucky little surprise upgrade and that was amazing.

One of our favorite hotels in Taipei. Service and amenities were perfect. On top of all that, they have a great sauna area and a very very decent gym. It's a good old traditional hotel. Nice friendly staff, generous with the amenities like water, coffee, tea etc... Breakfast was a good ********* food like congee, pork buns sometimes, noodles, with some ham and sausages. Fruits were the same for 7 days: good watermelon 🍉, guava, and pale oranges that could be better. Salad and bread section with butter, jams and sometimes peanut butter. Overall an okay filling Breakfast 👌. Nice view of the river during breakfast at the top 12th floor. Wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Willing to go back but will try another hotel next time.

We had 6 people total so had two rooms and one room was in the newly built part of the building and the other one was in the old building. Room in the new building is much cleaner and lights are brighter. Room in old building lights are much deemer and bathroom is too old. No bottle of water, they provide water dispencer in every floor. Worst soap I ever smelled in any of the hotels. The receptionist who checked us in was very unclear with her question because we had two rooms and originally booked one family room with one king bed and 2 single beds and other room with a king bed. She asked whether 2 beds are ok and I thought she meant for the king bed as she finished with a sentence saying the king bedroom needs to be checked in later. So when we went up to the family room, I see 2 beds instead of my original request, went down to ask why and she gave me an attitude saying “didnt I ask whether 2 beds are ok” I was actually shocked with the way she approached me, did not try to clarify in a nice manner. Sorry but never going back. The photo is for the room in new building. Even if the room (new building) is clean if the service is bad, I never want to go back.

Walking distance from Houyi station (there's 3 bubble tea shops along the way). One thing to note: nearest exit (exit 3) have escalators going upwards only, need to walk to a further exit with a lift (exit 2). Room wasn't very clean, TV remote control was so dusty. Hotel breakfast was meh, disappointing.

I enjoyed my stay tremendously and at awe of the level of service from all the staff of this hotel. From the bellhop to the concierge to the maid, everyone here is professional and courteous only the highest class hotels in the US can match. Here they are doing it without expectations of tips... I traveled solo and as a single guy and not expecting much. I am surprised at the service and comfort I got that are exceeding my expectations.

It was first bad hotel experience booking thru trip.com. Traveled with 2 kids under 13. We drove to Kaoshiung from Taipei. Arrived late night. There's no parking lot provided but have to park somewhere 3 walk at a opposite the hotel. Paid TWD100 per entry on the following day before leaving. The hotel looks good at the public areas, except our room. We were given a room at 6th floor. It looks like under construction and no other guests were staying on that floor. If we were not 4 together, I dare not stay alone. What was disappointed was the room is very very old. Everything old style. The carpet is dirty. We have to wear the paper slippers (the worst hotel slipperstgat I had ever seen) to walk on the carpet. We tried to push a bed to the side to the wall, but the floor under the bed is very dirty, even found a plastic slipper (not a pair). We guessed it was left by the previous guest and the room was not totally cleaned. We quickly put the bed back. The shower pipe also not very well working and weak power water. Quite disappointed. 2 Good points: 1. The hotel is near to the night market: It's just 3~5 mins walk from hotel. 2. The breakfast was quite good.

I recently stayed at Tai Urban Hotel and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that all of my needs were met throughout my stay. They gave us a free upgrade and overall it was a pleasant stay. I saw a dead cockroach in the bathroom sink as I walked into the room though..

It was a nice experienced. It's just 5 mins walk from the KRT station. Very convenient to the mall and other convenience store and other restaurants nearby.

I had an amazing stay here: very clean and I love the room layout. I arrived in the evening and thanks to the staff, who was accommodating to my special request. The large room can actually fit 3 people, too bad I only traveled alone. Aside from the large bed, the sofa can be converted to an extra bed. But the price I paid was worth it, even if I stayed alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time, with family/friends. 🥰

Howard Plaza Hotel exudes an aura of cleanliness and tranquility. Every corner is immaculate, reflecting their commitment to hygiene. The counter staff was looking down at their phone while I was checking in. He didn't notice until I got to him. At night, I went to the counter to ask if I wanted to buy soap. Is the soap brand the same as the one in the room? The counter staff was clueless and said they didn't know the brand of the room amenities. Finally, show me the soap style I didn't know the breakfast time limit the next day. I only ate for half an hour and you came to urge me to finish my meal. I don't know how long the meal time is. The room is very big There is an induction cooker and oven but no pots and utensils There is a washing machine but no detergent You need to bring your own supplies (shampoo, shower gel, hand soap) There is a bathtub for bathing The water is large and the temperature is stable Walking distance to Family Mart All other stores require driving

Palmer hotel's location is very central, near taroko mall, Taichung park, Taichung train station and miyahahara ice cream shop. Palmer hotel offers buffet breakfast and also has a self laundry - coin operated same floor with the buffet. Room is big, 2 elevators working and quick checkin and check-out process. Hotel is conveniently located about 5 mins walk to mrt station. Room is spacious and clean but furnitures are old. Carpet has lots of stain. No shower screen in bath tub. Not much varieties for breakfast. Had made tea during breakfast from hot water dispenser and later found there was no tea colour in cup. Then realised water was not hot at all. Informed staff and they checked and discovered dispenser was faulty.

After trying several hotels, now I always stay in Lin whenever I am in Taichung. Centrally located and best hotel. Room size is too big and breakfast buffet spread is also very vast

LIKED: 1. Budget friendly 2. Laundry room availability DISLIKED: 1. Size of the room 2. Smell of the room (smelled damp, probably from the carpeted floor) 3. No bidet in the bathroom 4. Shampoo and shower gel were in the form of small sachets, barely enough for 1 person to use 5. Electrical sockets were behind the beds, you'd need to move the beds to use them. Otherwise there's only 1 socket next to the table and another one in the bathroom next to the toilet 6. Breakfast selection was very limited and in a basement that is relatively dark. There's no hot water dispenser there so if you want to drink tea, you either have to prepare hot water in your room or from the dispenser on the first floor.

Very nice room, i booked the capsule type but they upgraded to a single room instead, it was very nice. Location is very good, near taichung main station, Bus stop, and miyahara.

The hotel is at a location quite close to calligraphy greenway and public transport is relatively convenient too. Hotel breakfast was ok though it was a little repetitive. One point to note is that the closest junction is strictly an overhead bridge so if you're arriving by public transport and also carrying luggage, you'll have to walk a littler further down the road to cross.

Overall services were good, from concierge, to check in and check out. The room that was allocated to us was spacious however they could have done better to do regular maintenance on their TV channels and systems. Some channels showed black screen with audio whereas some with visuals but no audio. Called up for service and they got a technician over to check yet no outcome and they decided to brush me off by blaming it on system updates backend. Tried over the next few days and still didn't work, and gave up eventually. Not returning to this hotel for my next trip to Taichung.

Decent hotel located in a very good location that is walkable from the Taichung TRA Station. Miyahara, a popular store, is reachable as well, and Zhongxiao Road Night Market is further down. The hotel staff are also friendly and helpful.

Room was slightly smaller, and the windows needed some cleaning. The hotel had a lot of room guests and patience for the lifts would be needed during peak periods. The hotel breakfast was excellent with a good spread of food, but due to the number of guests, one would have to choose a breakfast timing (7 am, 8 am or 9 am) to prevent overcrowding. Gree underground parking was available.
