Hotel Dengan Spa di Hainan, China

Absolutely astonishing view, great place, hope to visit it again! A little bit hard to move around, but thanks to the fellas who drove us around every time!

Hilton Wenchang offers an opportunity to discover another curious side of Hainan. We could see Wenchang Space Launch site directly from our balcony. The beach was nearby, and we watched sunrises and sunsets there. The swimming pool was spotless clean, although only one pool out of there was open due to a low number of guests. A couple scenic spots are very close too, about 10 min drive. There has been a delicious breakfast every morning. The staff was polite and helpful. Jason He helped us with multiple needs, such as ordering medicine, finding restaurants, and booking a shuttle bus to Wenchang railway station. The latter is free, just need to book it in advance for a certain time period.

We recently stayed at the Pullman and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was top-notch. A special thank you goes to Maria, who was incredibly helpful throughout our entire stay. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her warm hospitality really made a difference in our trip. We are very happy with our choice to stay here and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service and a comfortable stay!

We booked a family suite at the grand mercury but the suite was on the third floor, which made it very hard for us and our 1 year old to access and we weren’t really feeling the vibe of the suite. However, a concierge named Kiki came over and went out of her way to make us comfortable. Even though the entire hotel was very full and busy, she found us a huge suite, added two extra beds for our daughters to sleep separately, brought all kinds of fruits and drink every day and checked on us constantly during our entire stay. Even though the hotel is a bit dated, the hotel’s ancient style architecture, gardens, ponds and the style is something to be mesmerized by. You have a heated children’s pool and two big full size pools at both wings. The hotel stands in the center of the Baihua market like a gigantic Chinese temple, therefore, the location makes everything so convenient. Our what to have been an average stay was quickly fulfilled and transformed into smiles because of Kiki’s service and set a high standard for us on how hotels should treat their guests. If you stay there, ask for Kiki and you’re all set.

Weather in Haikou was a little gloomy, but Erin went out of her way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. She was readily available on WeChat to answer my queries and gave me good recommendations on how to best spend my time in Haikou. Overall the hotel was also comfortable, and I love that there is an indoor kids playground which my daughter had so much fun in, and also that it’s close to the beach! The buffet breakfast every morning also served up a good spread, but their international dinner buffet was the best!

This hotel comes highly recommended. Upon arrival, the staff were incredibly accommodating and even upgraded my stay to a villa, which was fantastic. The food at the Horizon Beach Bar was outstanding, and the staff were attentive, always anticipating my needs. The cuisine at the Western restaurant was also excellent. Overall, this hotel provided a wonderful experience.

My ocean view room was good sized and very clean. The frosted glass between the shower and the bedroom was a little weird, because you could make out someone else's body shape behind it. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, although the quality of cooked food was just okay. Clientele is almost entirely Chinese, and this is reflected in the 2 main restaurants being Chinese cuisine, and hotel notices being in Chinese without English. We tried both restaurants - Features is way more accomplished than Five Senses, and their service was also better. The two identical gyms are spacious and the equipment felt new. Staff tries to please, although the training and quality is not at international 5-star level. I wish the butler and front desk were more knowledgeable about activities and restaurants in the vicinity. Shimei beach in the Hainan winter is perfect for lounging around in, and for surfing. Signs everywhere warning about undercurrents, and consequently no one swims in the sea.
