Hotels With Spa in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil

There was a problem with the water running out in the middle of the night. Luckily, I had already taken a shower. But we had to go without flushing the toilet. The pool is great, as is the terrace where it is located. The breakfast was delicious. The room was comfortable, as was the bed, but I found the bathroom a little small and cramped. I found the service at check-in to be a bit haphazard, the employee seemed stressed, but at check-out the employee was kind and polite.

Although slightly out of the way, the views and proximity to the beach are excellent. However, the service is quite poor and way below international standards. Most staff stand around and play with their phones (even the life guard). Breakfast is basic and doesn’t change from day-to-day. Some of the restaurant’s food is frankly embarrassing for any type of food outlet. The chefs should be quite ashamed to send it out. The pool is area is nice but worn out. No one cleans it during the day and tables are dirty. The loungers have seen better days. English language is quite rare apart from the receptionists, which to be fair, they’re probably the best staff there. The potential of the hotel is there - just needs good management and training. Do better!

The common areas are spacious and quite bare.Table and chairs at the restaurant are plain brown wood, The lobby is sparsely furnished with some worn , drab and very uncomfortable seats. Bathrooms are the same. Just the very bare essentials, not even a box of tissue paper ( and thin toilet paper) We travelled long hours,  arrived at 22:00 looking forward to a good shower …not to be. We were up for a bad start. There  was just a trickle of water not enough to bathe or properly brush teeth either. That could have been a whole area problem as we were told that water pressure can sometimes drop in some areas of the city. We changed rooms , water pressure  wasn’t much better the next day either, the water flow improved just a little and remained as such the whole week. We had paid for 5 nights and ended up staying as the city was packed that week . To go looking for another hotel during the G20 summit which Rio was hosting that week of November 2024 would not be an easy task.  On the positive side, staff was pleasant and accommodating, bed was comfortable and from our perspective, the breakfast buffet was the best feature of this hotel offering abundant variety of  food to meet all tastes- cereal, fruits and cheeses, cold cuts, several hot savory breakfast  dishes - incl. some Brazilian regional dishes as well, a huge selection of breads, cakes, good coffee, and more. Very satisfying. Including breakfast in the booking is highly recommended.  The good fare offered at the hotel at lunch and dinner not good at all. However, there are also three of four restaurants lined up on a small stretch within 5 min walking distance of the hotel- one of them is a very good authentic European Portuguese cuisine and wine. Aprox. US$ 52 for a meal for two. On the same cluster of shops there is a well established Brazilian cuisine restaurant with a good menu where one can eat well for anything  between US$ 12  to US$ 15 and a steak house similar to the Australian Outback steak house.  There are also other eateries snd convenience shops, a pharmacy on the same stretch ( 5 min walk ffrom the hotel) including a 24 hr laundromat where one can expect to wash and dry a load for about US$ 7.  As for location, this hotel is not close to the most well known districts of Rio - places like Copacabana, Ipanema , Leblon - but Barra da Tijuca is a special area in itself and arguably has the best beach in town. The hotel is just a 10 - 15 min taxi ride to Barra Shopping-  the largest and best shopping mall in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro where one can find anything,  including restaurants (recommend trying Jappa all you can eat Japanese food spread for US$ 26 as in Nov 2024). On the whole , when compared with the fashionable and pricey districts of Copacabana , Ipanema Leblon  this hotel is good value for money . I’d stay there again if they fixed the shower situation b’cause this feature matters for me.

Great hotel very helpful and friendly staff lovely breakfast and a small shop inside for essentials, the gym is well laid out and there is plenty of seating. The only suggestion would be to have a cash machine as that would be helpful at times when travelling out. The shuttle bus to and from the airport is great and saves allot of time and hassle. Would rate the hotel above the stars given

Staff universally excellent. All very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool and bar were a particular highlight. The only downside was the location. You need to take a taxi to pretty much anything other than the mall next door.

I love this hotel very much but this time I was disappointed with the smell of mofety in room 230 I was strong. I don't know if it was pq I drank coffee at 7 hours but I had cold and apple and whole pears . The garage is free! I loved it! The staff were very careful! I'll give another chance.

There was a confusion at the time of check-in I had booked two rooms and there was only one in my name. The hotel could check the sanitary vessel caps because in the two apartments were loose , they are of very poor quality, the air conditioning when I called started to drop down the water without stop but immediately I complained and a boy from the maintenance and saw a problem

The location of the hotel is very convenient, with beautiful views of Copacabana Beach. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. The staff were friendly and attentive, and check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. Great hotel, highly recommended! We will come again!

Once again, the Serena Hotel has surprised us for the service and quality of service! We stay in a huge and very comfortable room!!! Without talking about staff education and a beautiful breakfast!!! I always indicate!!! When we get back to the dive, we will certainly host here!! And now it will be with our baby that is already coming!!!

O hotel é maravilhoso, no centro perto de tudo para ir andando, quem é de fora do país é excelente pra fazer amizades, no hotel tem um grupo de moradores e sempre tem atividades para se fazer. Eu só nao gostei muito do café da manha pois como boa brasileira eu gosto de café da manhã em buffet a vontade, e lá o café é de forma individual, você escolhe uma opção entre 5 que tem e eles te servem, tem opções para gringos e brasileiros, mas gosto mais de comer a vontade e escolher, fora isso foi tudo completamente perfeito.

The service at the pool by the waiters, especially Danilo, deserves a round of applause. The menu has fair prices for different tastes and dishes. Everything very delicious. Don't forget to try the super filling shrimp pastry and the sun-dried meat with cassava. We didn't like the noise from the air conditioning, and the service from the reservations department, staff who were harsh in their responses. Excellent pool. Location note 1000

I love Búzios Resort. Good place family, especially for children. I just think you need to improve a little bit the food, put more varieties. But beyond that, everything is great. I've been 2 times.

The hotel is in a very good location , 5 minutes walking and you are on the beach . It’s a very beautiful building and the room is clean, the service was very good, all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, with many options, including fruits and local things. We stayed during New Year’s Eve , and we choose a good place to escape from the crowd Copacabana, Praia do Recreio is more quiet and clean, there were some noises from fireworks but nothing comparing to Copacabana.
