Lu Village | Fewer Crowds and More Beautiful Scenery Than Hongcun Village! Less Commercialized

I just got back from Huangshan Mountain. I was planning to go to Hongcun Village, but I discovered there was another village nearby called Lu Village. Since I was already in the area, I decided to check it out.👀 It's not commercialized at all, and the authentic, rustic feel is beautiful! From the viewing platform, you can overlook the entire village. This is what southern Anhui is all about. 🏠For accommodation, I chose Tingyun Shanfang this time. 📍Location: It's right in Lu Village, very close to the Wood Carving Houses, making it easy to get around.🚶‍♀️ 🏡Environment: It's a renovated, protected Hui-style residence that retains its ancient charm. The feel of an old house🏚️is something a hotel just can't replicate. The Lu Village Wood Carving Houses are also nearby, and the overall style is similar. You can see the ancient village from the window. Waking up to this view every morning is quite pleasant. Every meal at the homestay was a treat. The stinky mandarin fish and braised pork with dried bamboo shoots were divine. The fish meat of the stinky mandarin fish was as fragrant as garlic cloves, and the dried bamboo shoots in the braised pork had absorbed all the meaty flavor. The pork belly was rich but not greasy. I easily ate two big bowls of rice. The food at this homestay alone is enough of a reason for me to visit Lu Village again! This trip to Lu Village was so enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance when you visit Hongcun Village!🤔 🗺Itinerary Morning: Wood Carving Houses → Lu Village Viewing Platform 1️⃣⛰️The main attraction in Lu Village is its Wood Carving Houses. There are many of them, the largest of which is Zhicheng Hall. As soon as you enter, you'll be amazed by the exquisite carvings.👏 Figures, flowers, birds, landscapes—every detail is incredibly lifelike. 2️⃣Lu Village Viewing Platform (10:30 - 11:30): It's a short walk from the Wood Carving Houses. Standing on the viewing platform, you can see the entire village of Lu. It's truly breathtaking! It's a little bit of a shame that the rapeseed flowers are starting to wilt at this time of year.🥀 It would have been better to come a little earlier. Afternoon: Siche Bridge → Qianjie Creek → Tiandeng Lane Siche Bridge: Originally built during the Song Dynasty, it's steeped in history. The scenery around the bridge is beautiful, and many students were sketching there.🎨 It was a lovely scene. Qianjie Creek: I feel that the water and streets of Lu Village together create a perfect picture. The water💦reflects the Hui-style buildings on both banks. There are many stone bridges and pavilions along the way. When you get tired, you can sit down, take a break, enjoy the breeze, and admire the scenery. It's perfect for a relaxing getaway. 🚗Transportation Guide • Take the high-speed train to Huangshan North Station, transfer to a bus to Hongcun Village, and then take a taxi. It's a short ride to Lu Village, convenient and fast.🚄 • If you're driving, there's a parking lot at the entrance to Lu Village, making parking very convenient.🅿️ ❗Important Notes The lighting inside the Wood Carving Houses is dim, so bring a fill light for photos.📸 Otherwise, your pictures might be a bit blurry. It's also easy to get lost.😵‍💫 The lanes in the village are intricate, so it's best to plan your route in advance or follow the navigation.
