Real Experience of Visiting Lushan Mountain in Xichang

As someone who doesn't usually enjoy hiking, I tried three different ways to go up the mountain: Taking the cable car for an aerial view of Qionghai Lake/Hiking to smell the pine fragrance/Taking a sightseeing bus to the middle of the mountain Surprisingly, each method had its own unique charm. 🕊️What I actually saw: Guangfu Temple halfway up the mountain was exceptionally serene The thousand-year-old Han cypress had branches twisting like coiled dragons Standing under the tree, I could smell a faint scent of incense The three-religion complex buildings were close to each other The blue-tiled eaves of the Taoist temple peeked out from among the cypress trees The Yi Slave Museum was more interesting than I expected Those handcrafted silver necklaces And yellowed old photos had a strong sense of history The Earthquake Stele Forest featured many stone tablets from the Ming Dynasty Looking closely, I could still make out records of earthquakes from that time Touching the cold stones gave me a feeling of traveling through time 🐒My real experiences: • While hiking up, I encountered a group of monkeys blocking the path Afraid they would grab my oranges, I quietly stuffed them into the side pocket of my backpack • When riding the open-air cable car, the lake breeze was quite strong and blew my hair wildly But the view was truly expansive • The slide was much gentler than amusement park rides Being able to control the speed with the handle was perfect for someone timid like me ✨Practical tips: I recommend arriving before 10 AM, as the temple in the morning mist looks magical Bring some nuts to feed the squirrels (too many monkeys to feed them safely) Get to Guangfu Temple early for vegetarian meals, as they stop serving after noon Wear non-slip shoes for hiking, as the moss-covered stone steps can be slippery It's windy at the viewing platform, so hold onto your hat 🚶Reference route after coming down the mountain: I chose the easiest route—taking the slide to the foot of the mountain A five-minute walk takes you to Qionghai Park The seagulls are particularly active around 4 PM Spend 5 yuan on a small bag of crackers Watch them swoop down and snatch food from your hands More fun than checking in at popular tourist spots If you still have energy, You can stroll along the lakeside boardwalk to Yuese Town Sit on a bench and watch the sun sink into the lake That's how to make the most of your weekend
