If you’re heading to 四姑娘山 (Mount Siguniang) but don’t want to do intensive hiking, 双桥沟 (Shuangqiao Valley) is your best bet! Located just a short ride from Rilong Town, this valley blew me away with its snowy peaks, turquoise lakes, wooden boardwalks, and easy accessibility. 💚 ⸻ 🚍 How I Got There: • book a tour. Save me transport woes, and also include entry + sightseeing bus ticket (the bus is mandatory!) • The sightseeing bus makes multiple scenic stops — just hop off, explore, and hop back on ⸻ 🏞️ What I Loved: • Zero need to hike – perfect for families, seniors, or altitude-sensitive travelers • Stop by 银山瀑布 (Yinshan Waterfall), 撵鱼坝, and 日月宝镜湖 — absolutely stunning for photography • The valley road winds through majestic peaks, open plains, and mirror-like alpine lakes ⸻ 💡 Pro Tips: ✅ Go early in the day to beat the crowds and enjoy better lighting ✅ Bring layers — it’s chilly even when sunny ✅ Snacks, water, and sunscreen are a must (no shops once inside) ✅ Oxygen bottle optional — altitude around 3,800m but still manageable ⸻ 📌 I personally found Shuangqiao more rewarding than I expected — the sheer scale of the mountains without the effort made this one of the most relaxing alpine escapes I’ve had.
