Mount Savu is divided into the Savu Main Peak (5175m) and the Savu New Route (5060m). Because the new route is shorter, has a lower altitude, and takes less time, I chose the Savu New Route. If you are not in good physical condition, I recommend climbing the Savu New Route, as the scenery is not much different from the main route. ❤️How to play the Savu New Route? Here's my 2-day, 1-night itinerary with the tour group: D1: Chengdu → Wolong → Balang Mountain → Cat Nose Ridge → Siguniangshan Town → Xiaojin County → Savu Base Camp D2: Savu Base Camp → Transfer → Hiking Start Point → Summit Mount Savu → Savu Base Camp → Return to Chengdu ❤️What should I pay attention to? I won't list the equipment and costs that you can easily find online. Here are some details worth noting: ⚠️Travel Tips 1️⃣First-timers beware! This is not as easy as the internet says. It's not just about being able to walk! 2️⃣Don't take off your clothes easily during the climb to the summit, even if you feel hot and sweaty, otherwise, you can easily get sick. 3️⃣Your feet can easily get numb after walking for a long time, so remember to bring foot warmers to take care of your feet. 4️⃣Be sure to bring a thermos and hot water. At high altitudes, water will freeze into slush and be undrinkable. 5️⃣There may be thin ice hidden on the ground when descending, so knee pads can be very useful. Be sure to bring them. 6️⃣If you have a fitness habit, it is recommended to suspend aerobic exercise one or two weeks before departure, as this will help alleviate altitude sickness.
