Encounter Xiamen's most beautiful hotel in the early morning

The hotel opened in 2018 and was designed by LAYAN. From the initial Puxuan to the current self-operated Qishang by the owner, one can now feel the youthful style of the hotel on its 7th anniversary. ▪️Due to schedule reasons, I arrived very early that day. After having breakfast in the restaurant (the waffles for breakfast were delicious), I was pleasantly surprised to discover the different light and shadows brought by the early morning in the public area. The changes in light and color in the early morning are unpredictable, gradually transitioning from the deep tranquility of the night to the sound of birds chirping at sunrise. The whole process is quite healing. ▪️Circulation and Design ▪️When I first arrived at the hotel, I was led to the arrival area by the surrounding walls and low-key glass exterior walls. Under the guidance of the bamboo forest path, I began to enter the urban paradise. The water feature at the entrance perfectly embedded the lychee tree, which has grown with the hotel for 7 years. After entering the arrival area, this area also serves as the central hub of the hotel, leading to the lobby, all-day dining restaurant, guest room area, and health and recreation area, reasonably distributing the flow of people in each direction. ▪️Then to the outdoor corridor area, accompanied by the corridor is not a boring and tasteless flat lawn, but a living water pool surrounding the entire pedestrian corridor. I don’t know why the design of the water feature is very pleasing to my design aesthetics. No matter how small the fountain is, it can stimulate my love for the water feature. Nowadays, there are very few urban hotels with water features (there are many in Thailand). Perhaps the maintenance is troublesome or the cost is too high, but this design really brings a lot of vitality. ▪️Back in the lobby, the classic corridor design is used again. Even though this design technique has been used many times, the effect on site still makes me feel excited. ▪️Nowadays, too many hotel designs are too impetuous, and the stylization follows the trend, lacking the calmness and elegance of the old hotels. Fortunately, this time in Xiamen, I found this place, this restrained beauty.
