Sihe Mountain and Xiyun Temple

Sihe Mountain, also known as He Mountain, Sihe Mountain, or Sihua Mountain, stands 132m tall and is the highest peak in urban Wuhu, covering an area of approximately 0.55 sq km. Legend has it that the mountain was once covered with cinnamon trees, lush vegetation that produced yellow flowers in spring and black fruits in fall, creating a dark green vista when viewed from afar. The mountain got its name "He Mountain" (Brown Mountain) from its brownish-black rocks. At the summit stands Xiyun Temple, which houses two 150-year-old ginkgo trees. Though small, the temple maintains its classical charm, and its platform offers views of the Yangtze River.
