Baoshu Pagoda, Hangzhou | National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit

Baoshu Pagoda is located on Baoshi Mountain on Beishan Road in Xihu District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. It is a landmark of the West Lake scenic area. The pagoda is a solid brick structure with a wooden appearance. It is octagonal and seven stories tall, with a total height of 45.3 meters. The base of the pagoda is octagonal, and the body of the pagoda tapers upwards, with each story being shorter than the one below. Baoshu Pagoda is an important historical artifact for the study of ancient pagodas in Jiangnan. It is also of great value for the study of the changes in West Lake, the formation of cultural landscapes, and the spread of Buddhism in the Wuyue Kingdom.
