We took the Waitomo Glowworm Caves: Classic Boat Ride + Guided Tour. The entire trip takes about 45 minutes. At the beginning, the tour guide will lead you to visit the limestone caves, and along the way will introduce the geology, history, and lifestyle of the glowworms. Finally, we enter the highlight - taking a small metal boat and quietly crossing a dark underground river. The key point is: you are not allowed to talk or take photos during the entire boat ride. (But the tour guide will tell you that you can take some photos before leaving the cave!) In the silent darkness, when you look up, you will see a dense blue light, hanging above your head like the Milky Way, so beautiful that it will take your breath away. 【Pre-trip reminder】 Be sure to book in advance! Tickets may not be available on site, and it is recommended to arrive half an hour in advance. Before entering, a staff member will take a few photos for you with a camera (and guide you on how to pose). After taking the photos, you will be given a piece of paper with a QR code on it.
