Indeed, this old street is a commercial street, but unlike other tourist attractions, there are very few shops on this commercial street. In some areas, more than 20 shops are closed in a row, which is very rare. However, it must be said that this old street is really old, with traditional southern Anhui Hui style architecture, and large and small blue bricks paved into a relatively wide path. From the smoothness of the floor tiles, one can guess that this old street must have been very prosperous in the past. There are many exhibition halls along the street, but perhaps because it is not yet office hours, all of them are closed. There are also many small attractions that I think are very meaningful, such as Tongcheng Academy, etc., which simply put up signs to tell tourists that this was the site of a certain place. Although I always thought that commercialization would destroy the meaning of the ancient street, I actually hope that this old street can be well planned, developed and commercialized. Because there are so many interesting places, I want to learn about the historical stories of these places through visiting, such as the story of Tongcheng Academy, rather than just knowing its name and taking a look at its appearance.
