Visit the Earth God Cultural Museum

Taoyuan District boasts an impressive density of Earth God temples, with over seven temples per square kilometer, the highest in Taiwan. To promote the Earth God belief and culture, the first public temple in Taoyuan City, Fude Temple, is located on the first floor. The temple features a resplendent altar, exquisite painted beams and columns, and robust stone carvings, showcasing the grandeur of traditional temple architecture. As the first public temple in Taoyuan City, Fude Temple does not accept incense money from worshippers and discourages the burning of joss paper and incense, aligning with environmental protection efforts. The second and third floors of the museum house permanent exhibitions displaying numerous deity statues, allowing visitors to closely observe the intricate artistry of these divine figures. Additionally, the museum offers a wealth of historical documents and immersive simulated settings, such as traditional Taiwanese opera stages, glove puppet theaters, and temple market stalls, providing insights into Taoyuan's history and temple culture. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on experiences with free traditional costumes and glove puppets, transforming into opera performers or puppet masters.
