From north to south, they are Koh Bangu, Koh Similan, Koh Payu, Ko Miang, Koh Hock, Koh Ha, Ko Payan, Ko Payang, and Ko Huyong. Koh Tachai was added in 1998 (closed since 2018 and remains closed). These islands cover a total area of 140 square kilometers and were declared a national park on September 1, 1982. Similan Islands National Park is rated as one of the top ten diving sites in the world, with many first-class shallow snorkeling spots at Ao Hin, Ao Reau Bai, Ao Kwang En, Hin Dok Mai, and the area behind the islands.
