Retro Stroll in Takaoka, Toyama

Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture has two traditional building preservation districts, making it an ideal place for a day trip and a retro stroll. My personal favorite is the Otera Kohachiro Store in Kanayamachi. You can purchase traditional crafts and antiques here, but they also offer a cafe in the back room where you can enjoy sweets and tea while gazing at the garden of the historic building.
