#summervacay Ritsurin Garden is a renowned attraction in Takamatsu, conveniently located south of the city center. It's easily accessible by train (two or three stops), bicycle, or even a pleasant walk. Expansive Gardens and Diverse Landscapes The garden is quite large, divided into Northern (北回游线) and Southern (南回游线) walking courses, taking approximately 40 minutes and 60 minutes respectively to explore. Maps are available at the entrance to help you navigate. Both routes feature a variety of exquisite garden landscapes, including flowerbeds, ponds, pathways, miniature mountains, and water features. The winding paths are a delight to stroll along, offering charming views and occasional elevated viewpoints. Between the northern and southern sections, you'll find a cluster of buildings (P6-8), some of which house historical exhibits and displays. Kikugetsu-tei Teahouse (P4), located towards the southern end of the Southern course, offers the option to enjoy tea and views for a fee. Do note its operating hours; it typically closes at 4:30 PM, earlier than the garden itself. Interestingly, many of the garden's place names are inspired by Chinese landmarks, such as Xiaoputuo, Feilaifeng, Chibi, and Xihu. A Relaxing Half-Day Excursion Generally, the garden is not overly crowded, making it a very relaxed attraction that requires no extensive planning.
