The Sound of Insects—The Art and Culture of Listening to Nature.

This visit to the special exhibition on singing insects gave me a more comprehensive understanding of cicadas, katydids, and crickets. Not only did I learn about their characteristics from a biological perspective, but I also explored the roles of these insects in poetry, art, and culture. The exhibition is divided into five main themes: insect stories, poetry, cultural arts, biology, and conservation. It guides the audience to understand these small creatures from both scientific and humanistic perspectives. Particularly in the section on traditional insect culture, it showcases how ancient people appreciated insect sounds, carefully raised them, and even developed exquisite cricket jars and related crafts, demonstrating the ingenious combination of nature and art. What impressed me the most was that the exhibition not only focused on history and culture but also emphasized the importance of insect conservation. It reminded everyone how to cherish and protect these creatures while appreciating the beauty of nature. Overall, this exhibition not only increased knowledge but also gave a deeper appreciation for the sounds of nature. I highly recommend it to friends interested in insects and traditional culture!
