Price per Person - From $1.50 up Rating - 4 / 5 Novena Square Feature Series - 24 This chic looking kiosk is conveniently located at Level 1 of Velocity Novena Square, along the walkway towards the quieter part of Velocity, just after Cedele and opposite UOB Bank. City Donut is a donut speciality kiosk offering funky (atas, classy too) donuts that are freshly handmade daily in-store. Besides the classic original donut, they also have Singapore-inspired flavours like the Ondeh Ondeh, Pulut Hitam and Orh Nee that will surely tantalize the palates of a donut lover like me. Looking at the neat trays of donuts and their quirky associated names, you will be tempted in no time to want to check the various donuts out. For my visit here, I couldn't resist but order the Ondeh Ondeh Donut @ $2.90 with a light dusting of dessicated coconut on top. The taste of the rich, moist and sweet gula melaka with grated coconut when you take your first bite is pure heave3n to say the least. The donut base itself is pandan flavoured. Other crowd favourites include : - Original Sugar Coated Donut @ $1.50 , for a classic taste of nostalgic fluffed up donut rings from the 80s - Matcha White Chocolate Almond Donut @ $3.60 , a Japan inspired creation - Key Lime Pistachio Donut @ $3.80, if you are into a more refreshing munch with a tangy appeal - Strawberry Cheesecake Donut @ $3.60 , a kid's favourite with yummy strawberry cream frosting on top ... or simply old school fav like : Chocolate Rice, Milo and even Peanut Butter flavoured donuts ! You can choose to savour your donut at their small sit-in booth on the side. While you are at it, you can order a hot kopi or teh @ $1.00 a cup with any donut purchase (limited to 3 orders per pax). This spot is super instagram worthy too and you can see why via my photos. Love their bright neon slogan at this booth that reads " The Optimist Sees the Donut , The Pessimist Sees the Hole". For takeaway, you get a free box for every order of 4 donuts. Alternatively, you can pay $2.00 for a takeout box with a Marina Bay area print on it. Part of the sale proceeds will go to student artists from Pathlight School which is a school for children with special needs Incidentally, City Donut is under the Minor Food Singapore group that also happens to own Xin Wang HK Cafe and Po Chicken.
