Estimated time is about 6h. 🚗Self-driving tips (public transportation is not recommended, hitchhiking is more convenient): The starting point/end point is located in Dongchong Shagang Village. There is a parking lot nearby for parking, but the fee is a bit expensive. ❗️Tips: 1. The entire Maliao River is 6 km long, but the most beautiful part is the 1.5 km section. You really don’t have to walk the entire section. 2. There are toilets and shops at the starting point and the end point, but there is no place to get supplies on the hiking trail. It is recommended to prepare supplies at home in advance, as the prices of items in the shops are relatively high. 3. The stream tracing section requires the use of both hands and feet. Newbies are advised to wear gloves when climbing. There are no particularly dangerous places throughout the entire process, so you can have fun without worry. 4. There are exposed stones on the riverbed of Maliao River. You can wear sneakers and walk on them in any season. You don’t have to worry about getting your shoes wet when you walk on the stones. 5. You will pass two sections of coastline on the way, and speedboats often pass by. If you are tired, you can take a speedboat to descend (but you should still be cautious on windy and seay days). 6. Outdoor activities have certain risks. Never go alone. It is best to go with friends. Also, do not go to the Maliaohe Ancient Village as the forest there is too dense and it is easy to get lost.
