Shenyang Must-Visit | Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum [2] (4A Scenic Spot) Built in 1625, the Shenyang Imperial Palace is one of China's two well-preserved ancient palace complexes. The Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, established in 1926 on the foundation of the palace, is an ancient cultural and art museum. It is among the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units and a national first-class museum, housing over 100,000 cultural relics of extremely high historical and artistic value with distinctive characteristics. In 2000, the Shenyang Imperial Palace became one of the first national AAAA-level tourist attractions. On July 1, 2004, as an extension project of the Ming and Qing Imperial Palace, it was officially included in the World Heritage List at the 28th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
