Spend two days and one night as a little wetland explorer. 🎣 Core Camp Activity: Mudflat Ecological Experience The "Dongtan Wetland Nature Education Camp" we chose offers special winter activities: Collecting traps and identifying seafood: Led by professional instructors, wear special mudflat socks (provided by the camp), walk to a safe mudflat area, and personally collect pre-set traps. You might find small crabs, mudskippers, white shrimp, or even eels! The instructor will explain the characteristics of these creatures on site, and most will be released afterward. Night exploration of the wetland: At night, hold a flashlight and explore along a safe route with the instructor. Although there are fewer insect sounds in winter, you can observe fiddler crabs, mudskippers on the mudflats, find bird sleeping spots, and listen to stories about the wetland at night. Nature crafts: Make wind chimes or decorative paintings using collected reeds and shells. ⛺ Accommodation: Cozy Starry Sky Tents The camp provides luxury tents equipped with air conditioning, electric heaters, comfortable beds, and private bathrooms—definitely not “ascetic” camping. The tent roof has a transparent star-gazing window for stargazing on clear nights. The common area features a warm campfire zone and activity room. 📅 A Fulfilling Two-Day Camp Schedule Day 1: Afternoon: Check-in at the camp, settle into tents, and enjoy afternoon tea. Evening: Mudflat trap collecting experience (about 1.5 hours). Night: Camp self-service barbecue or hot pot dinner → Participate in night wetland exploration → Campfire storytelling. Day 2: Early morning: Optional sunrise viewing (the camp provides electric carts to nearby spots). Morning: Wetland birdwatching hike (led by camp instructors with bird knowledge) or plant printing craft class. Noon: Enjoy lunch featuring your “harvested” ingredients (of course, additional seafood is purchased separately).
