Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou｜The Ultimate Winter Luxury Family Vacation, Unlocking Fun Childhood Moments

From a family travel perspective, I’m excited to share the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou, which is definitely a treasure for winter family vacations! Photos 1 to 4 show the afternoon tea we enjoyed in early December 2023 when the hotel just opened. At that time, there was no smog, the weather was clear and sunny—perfect for taking the baby on an outdoor island cycling trip to enjoy the fresh winter air. However, the children’s playground is only available to hotel guests, so to let the baby fully experience it, we booked a stay during the New Year holiday. This time, we stayed in a Wanghu Room. Unfortunately, due to heavy fog, Peach Blossom Island and the intercity line across the water were faintly visible, so we missed out on the clear scenic views, which was a bit disappointing! Upon check-in, the hotel thoughtfully prepared a cute loquat-shaped bag for each child and creatively designed loquat-shaped room key cards, which the baby loved immediately. A staff member called a day in advance to inquire in detail about our family needs and prepared special children’s amenities accordingly. They also carefully arranged a chocolate puzzle 🧩, so the baby was delighted as soon as entering the room. The hotel’s children’s playground is divided into areas for older and younger kids (see photos 8 to 11), with a wide variety of facilities, high safety standards, and many patient and responsible staff accompanying the children, completely freeing parents’ hands. However, during the holiday period, some activities on the children’s schedule were not held due to the large number of guests, which was a bit regrettable. The hotel has three restaurants: Yunhe (buffet), Longlang (afternoon tea, bar, light meals), and Jinjing Pavilion (Chinese restaurant). I heard that Jinjing Pavilion is related to the Jinsha Hall at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou. I have dined twice at Jinsha Hall before and found it average. Hotel guests can order from the kids menu for free (see photos 17 and 18), which is very generous. The baby’s favorite banana boat dish tastes excellent—highly recommended! Yunhe’s breakfast offers a decent variety, with unlimited caviar, champagne, ham, and more, but personally, I think it’s not as good as the breakfast at Park Hyatt Suzhou, and you have to queue if you arrive late. Longlang’s afternoon tea is very cost-effective at only 588 RMB, with quality comparable to Shanghai’s afternoon teas costing one to two thousand RMB. However, I heard that due to high customer feedback, adjustments might be made later. It’s important to note that the hotel pool does not provide children’s life jackets or float rings, so parents are advised to prepare these for their children in advance. The lifeguards are very enthusiastic and even asked if we came from Shanghai, showing excellent service. The outdoor infinity pool and children’s pool offer stunning views, with winter sunlight sparkling on the water. We definitely want to bring the baby back in summer to check it out! The hotel is continuously improving. This stay, we noticed they added children’s bicycles, allowing the baby to ride around the hotel grounds comfortably. Looking forward to coming back in summer to unlock more family fun!
