We took the subway line 2 and got off at Jing’an Temple Station. When we got there, we found the temple right away without getting lost. This temple is located in a very modern contrast — right next to the Jing’an Kerry Centre and luxury shops like Gucci, Cartier, and Starbucks Reserve. If you don’t look left, you won’t be able to look right in time. --- 🎫 The entrance fee is 50 yuan per person. But in exchange for peace of mind and great photos, it’s worth it! (Some days, they even give out free incense.) --- 📜 A short but powerful history Jing’an Temple is not an ordinary temple. It is one of the oldest temples in Shanghai, over 1,700 years old. It wasn’t originally here. They moved from the suburbs to the city over a hundred years ago. It was completely renovated around the 20th century, becoming the magnificent sight it is today. 🧘♂️ The name "Jing'an" literally means "tranquility", which is the feeling you feel as soon as you step inside. --- 📸 Highlights & Photo Corners 🪙 3.8-meter-high Sandalwood Buddha Statue — Carved from rare sandalwood from Burma, it gives off a luxurious, sacred feel. 🛕 Golden Pagoda & Golden Wooden Building — A popular corner where everyone who comes must stand on the balcony and let their friends take a candid photo. 🌇 City Contrast — Looking out, you will see an ancient Chinese temple contrasting with the skyscrapers around you.
