Pompeii

#HawaiiAirlineEvent Pompeii ruins that I visited during my trip to southern Italy. Pompeii is an ancient Roman city built around the 6th century BC. On August 24, 79 AD, the nearby Mount Vesuvius erupted, and the entire city of Pompeii was buried in volcanic ash and volcanic rock. The volcanic ash instantly covered the entire city, destroying it at the time. Excavations began in 1748 and are still ongoing. Pompeii preserves the lifestyle of the Roman city at the time, making it an important site for studying the daily lives, architectural styles, art, and religion of ancient Romans.
