Review of Truth University

Truth University (真理大學), located in the tranquil streets of Tamsui, Taiwan, welcomed me with an atmosphere of serenity and historical charm, as if time had momentarily paused. As one of the oldest Christian universities in Taiwan, its history and philosophy are seamlessly embedded throughout the campus. The first thing that caught my eye was the red brick buildings and the Gothic-style chapel. The European architectural style blended harmoniously with the lush tropical greenery, creating a unique and picturesque landscape. Situated on a hill, the campus offers stunning views of the Tamsui River and the sea. The sight of the university against the backdrop of a distant sunset was truly unforgettable. Inside the campus, a quiet and peaceful ambiance prevailed. Students appeared relaxed and carefree, and it was delightful to see groups gathered in the library or on the grounds, studying or chatting. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, especially towards foreigners, left a lasting impression. Nearby, attractions such as the small alley in front of Truth University, Tamsui Middle School, and Fort San Domingo (紅毛城) are within close proximity, making it an ideal location to enjoy both history and nature. The seamless connection between tourist spots and the campus felt like strolling through a quaint European village. Although my visit was brief, Truth University truly lived up to its name, offering a space to experience 'truth' and 'peace.' If you ever travel to Tamsui during your trip to Taiwan, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s not just a school visit but an opportunity to immerse yourself in culture and time.
