The entire building retains its red-brick exterior from the Republic of China era, exuding vintage charm. At check-in, the front desk offered a welcome tea—Nanjing's signature Yuhua tea with a hint of osmanthus fragrance—instantly melting away fatigue. The room design totally won me over! It perfectly blends Republic-era elements with modern minimalism—wooden furniture, vintage lamps, even the room numbers are designed with aged copper accents. The biggest surprise was the retro telephone-shaped hairdryer in the bathroom—my social media post about it got tons of requests for the link! The mattress was just right, and I slept soundly with the swaying shadows of plane trees outside the window. 🏋️ Wellness Facilities I thought a vintage-themed hotel might skimp on amenities, but I was totally wrong! The gym, though compact, is fully equipped, with treadmills facing floor-to-ceiling windows for city views. Lounging poolside with Nanjing's skyline is pure bliss. 💡 Other Tips Don’t miss the hotel breakfast—the duck blood and vermicelli soup is authentic, packed with generous portions of duck intestines and liver. The freshly made Nanjing wontons are also a must-try, with a rich broth so good I had them two days in a row. Visit the hotel garden in the afternoon for osmanthus latte and Chinese pastries. The historic architecture and sunshine make it super photogenic. Request a high-floor room in advance for better views.
