Paying homage to Phra Pathom Chedi

The current Phra Pathom Chedi is a Sri Lankan-style stupa in the Sukhothai style, built during the reign of King Mongkut. It was constructed over two previous stupas: a Sanchi-style stupa from the Indian era of Emperor Ashoka and an ancient Khmer-style stupa. In addition to Phra Pathom Chedi, in the lower terrace area to the south of the chedi and the ordination hall, there are the principal Buddha images, the white stone Buddha statues, which are two of the four seated Buddha images with legs hanging down, in the Dvaravati period's teaching posture. Travel is convenient, accessible by both public transport and private car.
