Naha City First Makishi Public Market

The Okinawa First Makishi Public Market (Makishi Market) is located just a 2-minute walk from the "Makishi Station" on the monorail. The market offers a variety of seafood, including pufferfish and Ishigaki beef. The first floor is dedicated to shops, while the second floor serves as a seating area where you can bring seafood purchased on the first floor to be cooked. We picked a shop that caught our eye and bought some seafood. The staff guided us to their restaurant outside the market for cooking and dining. We bought fish, prawns, and luminous clams. The fish was steamed, the luminous clams were served as a cold dish and stir-fried, and the prawns were grilled. After trying all four dishes, we found the flavors to be quite ordinary, reminiscent of banquet-style dishes in Taiwan 🤣.
