A few days ago, Wo Fu was looking for a place to have dinner near Kwong Wah Hospital. He remembered that he had seen a long queue at "8+26 Tempura Izakaya" when he passed by Waterloo Road by bus before, so he went to give it a try. The shop specializes in homemade #tempura, and the light box on the door is very eye-catching. When I walked into the store and looked up, I saw a lot of lanterns hanging. It turned out that the store had an upper floor. The waffles are located at the long bar on the ground floor, with a feature wall behind them that matches the layout of an izakaya. First, order a bottle of cream soda ($12). Ordered a tempura set meal ($92) with lobster miso soup and appetizer. The set meal can be served with rice, cold/soup udon or cold/soup soba noodles. The soup can be white soup, black soup or curry soup. For waffles, you can add 8 yuan to order curry soup udon. The udon is very smooth and has the right hardness. The familiar Japanese curry flavor is fragrant but not spicy, which is just right for the taste of waffles. There are many choices of tempura to choose from. Waffles ordered Hiroshima oysters ($18), beef patties ($12), enoki mushrooms ($8), king oyster mushrooms ($8) and eggplant ($8). The Hiroshima oysters were larger than expected, plump and juicy, and the batter was not too thick.
