Miyakojima hideaway inn @the rescape

15 minutes by car from Miyako Airport. Is there really a place to stay this far ahead? We turn at the entrance and go further in... Going down the mountain, we arrive at Rescape, where villas are lined up. We check in at the reception building in the center while enjoying butterfly pea tea. This building has a restaurant and a shop, and we were able to make bath salts and roast marshmallows at night. We can also experience yoga here in the morning, and sleeping on a mat outdoors is a very pleasant experience that makes you feel one with nature! It was winter, so we woke up as the sun gradually rose. The breakfast is Japanese and Western on alternate days, so you can enjoy both with two nights. Both breakfast and dinner are made with delicious local ingredients and were pleasing to the eye and stomach. The local Miyakojima beer was delicious 🍺 We stayed in a comfort cottage, which was spacious enough for two people. Even in winter, the temperature is warm enough that you can wear just a thin long-sleeved shirt, so there were ants and other small insects at the entrance to the room and near the windows. Some people may not like them, but it doesn't feel dangerous. There is a pool, and although it's not freezing like water, the temperature is not warm enough to swim in in January. There is a beach within walking distance of the building, but there is a lot of driftwood from overseas, and in this condition it seems like it would be impossible to swim in even in summer. It might be better to enjoy the pool in summer and then go to another part of the island for the beach!
