Macau City Hall View

#Local Tour The Macau City Hall was built in 1784 and has been rebuilt several times since then. Its current size was formed in 1874, and it has obvious southern European architectural features. Located in Senate Square, it is one of the most important buildings in the area. The building has a distinct southern European romantic style, with white walls, dark green doors and windows, and a facade divided by granite moldings, giving people a solemn and peaceful feeling. The building is developed in three depths on the plane: the first depth on the first floor is the foyer in the middle, with exhibitions or public spaces on both sides. The inner walls from the base to the waist are covered with blue and white Portuguese tiles, which is a typical Portuguese decorative technique; the second depth is mainly the administrative area, which is also a two-story building, but slightly lower than the previous building; the last depth is arranged with a small and unique back garden. The three spaces are connected by an arch with stairs. The back garden has statues of Portuguese poets John De and Luis Camões, as well as Portuguese murals, which are very delicate and vivid. The main facade of the building is in the simple Renaissance style. It is a two-story building, 14.5 meters high and 44 meters wide. It is divided into three equal parts on the left, middle and right by granite lines. The middle part is slightly protruding forward, and there is a triangular pediment on the top, which is 17 meters high. The entrance of the main gate, which is 2.2 meters wide and 4.5 meters high, is also located in this part. On both sides of the gate, there are granite Doric pilasters supporting the lintel made of the same material.
