City Administration Office

The predecessor of the Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao was the City Hall. It is located in the city center of Macao (the often-heard Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro). The Municipal Affairs Bureau was built in 1784 and faces the Senate Square (fountain). The building is quaint and has Portuguese-Macau characteristics. It is a famous Portuguese building in Macao with Portuguese brick walls inside. In 2005, the Municipal Affairs Bureau Building became one of the United Nations World Heritage Sites "Historic Center of Macao". It is well worth a visit and is one of Macao's landmarks.
