Taizi River, the mother river of Liaoyang

Located in the east of Liaoyang. According to "Records of the Grand Historian", Taizi River was called "Yanshui" in ancient times. In 227 BC, the King of Qin used the fact that Prince Dan of Yan sent Jing Ke to assassinate him as an excuse to attack Yan. Prince Dan of Yan was defeated and retreated to the banks of the Yanshui River in Xiangping, ancient Liaoyang. In the early winter of 226 BC, Prince Dan died heroically to protect the State of Yan. From then on, Prince Dan’s tragic life formed an indelible complex in people’s hearts and was deeply integrated into the long river of memory, so "Yanshui" was called Prince River. For thousands of years, the Taizi River has been flowing quietly, blessing the local people and nourishing thousands of acres of fertile farmland. With the development and construction of Hedong, Taizi River has become a city river and has been built into a tourist landscape park integrating tourism, leisure and entertainment, scientific education and other functions. The park is 9 kilometers long and 700-1100 meters wide from east to west. It is based on the principle of "beautiful water, green veins, and beautiful city" and takes "ecology, sports, and tourism" as its main functions. Sports plazas, piers, docks, water stands and other attractions have been built in the scenic belts on both sides of the river. The environment is beautiful and the air is fresh. It is an ideal place for tourists to experience Liaoyang's long history and culture and the atmosphere of modern life.
