A place in Kyoto I hadn't visited yet: Eikando Zenrin-ji Temple. Founded in 853 as a training hall for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, it is now the head temple of the Jodo sect's Seizan Zenrin-ji branch. It has been famous for its autumn foliage for a long time, so much so that it is known as 'Eikando of the autumn leaves.' The green maple leaves were also very beautiful.
