As expected (although the cherry blossoms were only half in bloom), there were many cherry trees in the shrine grounds, so even though they weren't in full bloom, it was very beautiful. The sacred horse that we gave carrots to on New Year's Day wasn't there today, so we couldn't give any carrots, but the grounds were spacious and beautiful, with a river flowing over it, a vermilion bridge, and the vermilion shrine and the cherry blossoms blooming in the green grounds were beautiful and had a very Japanese atmosphere. The vermilion shrine and torii gates looked particularly beautiful under the clear, cloudless sky, and the pale pink flowers on the tips of the cherry blossom branches proudly bloomed against the blue sky.
