🔉 Tinglin Garden, located in the southwest corner of the main urban area of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, is a 4A-level tourist attraction. 🔊 Gu Yanwu (1613-1682), respectfully called "Mr. Tinglin," was a native of Kunshan, Jiangsu, and a famous thinker and scholar of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. His famous saying "The rise and fall of the world is the responsibility of every individual" has become a motto for generations of Chinese people to serve their country faithfully. 📣 Tinglin Garden and Gu Yanwu, the tourist attraction and the ancient celebrity, are closely linked in terms of history and culture. 1️⃣ Tinglin Garden, opened in 1906, was originally called Mashan Park. In 1936, it was renamed Tinglin Garden (also known as Tinglin Park) to commemorate Gu Yanwu, and the name has been used ever since. 2️⃣ The "Gu Yanwu Memorial Hall" rebuilt in Tinglin Garden was opened to the public in 2015, and it was renovated and expanded in 2018 to better commemorate and carry forward the patriotic spirit of Mr. Gu. 3️⃣ The Gu Yanwu Memorial Hall, located in a prominent position in Tinglin Garden, is a major attraction in the garden, and it is a must-visit. 👣 Enter from the main gate (east gate) of the park, walk along the main road for about 200 meters, and there is a lawn of about 3,000 square meters with lush green grass. On the west side, there are 7 ancient-style stone lanterns neatly placed, symbolizing the 70 years of Gu Yanwu's life. On the north side, there is a full-body stone statue of Gu Yanwu, with a tall figure and a firm gaze, showing his noble character and national spirit. On the back of the statue, there are 8 large characters "The rise and fall of the world is the responsibility of every individual," and a door on the east side symbolizes Gu Yanwu's departure from home to devote himself to social investigation and writing. 💎 The memorial hall to the north of the lawn has white walls, black tiles, and dense vegetation. It is simple and elegant, and the historical atmosphere is扑面而来. 🎈 The exhibition hall provides a detailed introduction to Gu Yanwu's life and major works, and vividly displays his life through pictures and texts. On the back of the golden bust, there is a plaque with the inscription "Heart with Mountains and Rivers" (from Gu Yanwu's poem "Forever Speak with One Heart, Unchanging with Mountains and Rivers"), which reflects his firm belief in the country and the nation.
