30,000+ Steps in Kaoshiung!

With no actual list of places I wanna visit, I was constantly checking Google Maps which places are nearby and are doable/walkable with my short stay. Just fueled with my 2 hours of sleep and coffee, here is how things worked out for me. 1️⃣ Glory Pier 📍No. 31號, Haibian Rd, Lingya District, Kaohsiung City, 802 --- Harbour of KHH, urban landscape view 🚆 Took the Red Line to Formosa Blvd Station then transferred to Orange Line. Alighted at Hamasen Station, took a bus to Sizihwan. 2️⃣ Sizihwan Lookout 西子灣觀景臺 📍804, Kaohsiung City, Gushan District --- View of the sea. Historical walk. 3️⃣ Xiongzhen North Gate 哨船頭礮臺（雄鎮北門） 📍No. 6號, Lianhai Rd, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, 804 --- An old fortress. I did a lot of translation using Google translate just to understand its history. Pretty amazing if you're a history baby. 4️⃣ The British Consulate at Takow 打狗英國領事館文化園區(山下辦公室) 📍 No. 7號, Shaochuan St, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, 804 --- a little hike up the hill to reach the main building. Great view of the city harbour. 🛥️ Took the ferry at Gushan Ferry Pier Station to Cijin Island 5️⃣ Kaohsiung Lighthouse 高雄燈塔 📍80541, Kaohsiung City, Qijin District, 旗下巷34號 --- Hike up the hill was worth it! Great view of the multiple-colored houses in Cijing and the sea! Great view of the ships coming into the harbour! 📝📝📝 must see the Cijin Tunnel as well (I didn’t – what a luck!) You must plan your Cijing trip better than I did! 6️⃣ Cijin Old Street 旗津老街 📍 No. 40號, Miaoqian Rd, Qijin District, Kaohsiung City, 805 Highlights - Food and trinkets everywhere! Just walk straight past these stalls (grabbed food and drink along the way) and you can reach the beach side. My brain was too foggy, so I went back to Gushan Ferry Pier, took the 248 bus, and walked for a bit to my hotel. Checked in at CHAO SHE HOTEL (booked via Trip.com) (If you can do more, actually, from Gushan Ferry Pier, you can visit the Penglai Area of The Pier-2 Art Center 駁二蓬萊倉庫群 and The Pier2 Art Center 駁二藝術特區) but I was so tired I took a nap first. 😊 Woke up fresh and energised. 🌃 Liouhe Tourist Night Market六合觀光夜市 --- food trip 🌃 Formosa Boulevard Station 美麗島站 --- to see the Dome of Lights 🌃 Central Park 高雄中央公園 --- to see their light display 👣 then walked back to the hotel again 👣 lots of walking in one day TOTAL STEPS: 31, 904 I love how the KHH railway system is so easy to navigate!
