Jiujiang Half-Day City Walk

After visiting Mount Lu, I had half a day to spare, so I decided to wander around Jiujiang city. I was surprised to discover so many historical sites! Jiujiang, formerly known as "Xunyang" and "Jiangzhou," has a history of over 2,200 years. My walking route: Yanshui Pavilion ➡️ Xunyang Tower ➡️ Suojiang Tower ➡️ Pipa Pavilion Yanshui Pavilion sits in the middle of Gantang Lake, surrounded by water on all sides, connected to the shore by a single plank road. The pavilion's enclosed Hui-style architecture emphasizes the essence of its name, "smoke and water." It is said to be the former site of Zhou Yu's command post during the Three Kingdoms period. Walking along the Yangtze River from Yanshui Pavilion, you'll reach Xunyang Tower. This is where Song Jiang wrote his rebellious poem in *Water Margin*. Today, the tower houses a *Water Margin*-themed exhibition. Looking ahead from Xunyang Tower, you can see a pagoda. This is Suojiang Tower, standing 25.26 meters tall. Built in the 14th year of the Wanli Emperor's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1586) to control the waters, Suojiang Tower has been built and destroyed, destroyed and rebuilt, over the past 400 years. Yet, Suojiang Tower still stands tall. Even when tilted by Japanese bombing, it remains defiantly upright. The last stop is Pipa Pavilion, where Bai Juyi wrote his famous poem, "Pipa Xing" ("Song of the Pipa"). The main pavilion features an exhibition on "Bai Juyi, the Jiangzhou Administrator," and an immersive theater recreating the birth of "Pipa Xing."
